[T]he Republicans are the party of rich people.
They are also the party of crazy people.
But mostly they are the party of bamboozled people.

Republicans make of about 25% of the population, but the super rich are only 1%.

So who are the other 24% who are Republicans?

There are the crazies who want to arm teachers, to shoot illegal immigrants, to imprison women who get abortions or use birth control, to impeach the president because he uses the powers of the presidency, the “Birthers,” the gun nuts, the tea partiers, those who want to secede, etc.

But even the crazies don’t make up the majority of the Republican Party.

Most Republicans are reasonable folks who actually believe the propaganda from the Republican leadership.

This clown continues to exert a baleful influence on the American mind.

They think Reagan was a great president. (He wasn’t.)
They think Republicans are fiscally responsible. (They aren’t.)
They think Republicans have their interests at heart. (They don’t.)
They think the country is going to Hell because of Liberals. (It isn’t.)

They are the bamboozled. The pawns. The not-too-bright-rank-and-file. The mostly white. The mostly uneducated. The mostly lower middle class who have as much business being Republicans as Jews had being Nazis or Blacks have in joining the Klan.
