Who really fired on the Maidan protesters?

Yanukovych: He wasn’t very popular, and an oligarch, too, like Poroshenko, but he was the legally elected head of state.

[A]t some point in Ukraine’s Maidan uprising (stoked by the West) snipers opened fire on the protesters. The Western media immediately fingered then president Viktor Yanukovych. This despite the fact that the police had not been excessively brutal; in fact, contrary to expectations in some quarters, the security forces had acted considerably more circumspect in their response to the multiple daily provocations than what we see any day in Western capitals and cities, from New York to London, and Paris, to little known places like Ferguson, Missouri.

Yanukovych was admittedly corrupt, but what else is new? The West—practically the whole world— is crammed with corrupt and brutal politicians too, but Washington doesn’t go around huffing and puffing and overthrowing crooks, only crooks and patriots who refuse to do its bidding. Besides, if the Washington cliques were sincere in their hatred of corruption and lack of democracy they would have to topple themselves.

So Viktor Yanukovych was promptly accused of allowing his security services to carry out the massacre. This detonated an explosion of violence that ended his regime. Since that time, all evidence has shown that Yanukovych, who eventually fled to Russia, was innocent, and that the sniper massacre had all the signatures of a false flag event. It had been conducted by other, “unknown” subterranean parties.

We must ask: who benefited from this indiscriminate killing? Certainly, as was the case with the downed Malaysian liner, about which so much noise was made, not Russia.  But it certainly helped the pro-West putschists, openly supported by the US and the rest of the NATO alliance. That part of the story of course is nowhere to be found in the American press. The massive, almost impenetrable ignorance of the American mind must be protected from inconvenient facts. This video examines the events surrounding this tragic episode, attempting to inject some truth into the topic.
