Opinion: Reasons Why Bernie Sanders is No Solution Either

By Colin Montgomery [dropcap]I [/dropcap]posted the following as a comment on a recent post by Bernie Sanders’ Facebook page, which denounced the Republican debate for not addressing issues that pertain to the people and stated that they are out of touch. … Although I firmly despise the Republicans and agree that they are indeed out of touch with respect to the needs and desires of the proletariat and have insidious policies, Sanders himself has no right to criticise Republicans. Sanders is an extreme imperialist, Zionist, war-monger, and crypto-Capitalist and Democrat, whose claims to oppose wealth inequality, oppose war and support the working class are complete and utter lies and should be revealed as such: ‘Yes, I agree. The Republican Party has degenerated into a complete farce and has fallen too far to the Right. However you’re not giving the American people much more of a chance by running on the Democratic Party ticket, as the Democrats have consistently displayed nothing but support for the upper class, big-business, war, and heinous anti-worker legislation such as the TPP. There is no true structural reform possible within the Democratic Party (i.e. ‘the graveyard of social movements’), and Mr. Sanders, you need to understand that if you’re truly intent on ‘changing the game’. And stop terming the enemy the ‘billionaire class’, as they also include millionaires, corporations, the upper middle-class, politicians, preachers and the Democrats too. Furthermore, you yourself are VERY out of touch with the people. You have demonstrated nothing but a militantly pro-war stance throughout your history in Congress. You’ve voted for sending troops to Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq, and Yemen and have notably called for the construction of F-35 fighter jets in Vermont, as well as having even expressed eagerness to possibly metamorphose the Vermont National Guard into a testing centre for unmanned drone warfare. You’ve lent your support to every military contractor that brings, or has vocalised any consideration of bringing, the military-industrial complex further into your state. How DARE you claim to support American workers and detest wars. All you’ve done, with respect to these insidious policies, is permit the capitalist class to endanger the working class and send them to death in unnecessary armed conflict that only aims to increase the profit margins of that ‘billionaire class’ you pretend to be railing against. Oh, and should I add that your staunchly Zionist position with regard to Israel, including, most heinously, a track-record of having NEVER voiced opposition to Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians or any regard for the latter, oppressed peoples, is completely out of touch with the people (and even less evolved than Obama and most Democrats!) and illustrates your lack of concern for humanity. You’re not a socialist, let alone a ‘social democrat’, Mr. Sanders, but a closeted Capitalist, proponent of genocide, and avid war-monger who isn’t fit to speak on behalf of the people.’ Down with Sanders!
