John Oliver is no flaming radical, we know that, and his course is generally erratic if not woefully propagandistic and misguided when speaking about foreign policy issues. But from time to time he says things that merit attention—within the context of a miserably informed mass population. The fact that he is willing to raise some uncomfortable issues, and explore them in depth, makes him stand out in the cesspool of American television.
