ANIMAL MOMENT:—Otter love | Fox gratitude

Geoff and Dawn

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]o matter how we look at it or how we measure it, compassion toward others, particularly toward those who are literally at our mercy, is a virtue that needs little proof of its moral validity. Defending animals from a multitude of human assaults is a priority for all decent human beings.

This is Dawn, one of the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary’s 6 resident foxes that cannot be returned to the wild. The majority of animals we get in is injured wildlife that is aimed to be returned into the wild, however, Dawn was a young fox that was took into a dog rescue centre as the member of public that found her thought she was a dog! When they realised they bought her into us but it was too late, because she was too tame and this meant that she wouldn’t be able to look after herself in the wild. Dawn is not a pet, and we do not recommend any fox or wild animal as a pet.

Just days after a wild sea otter gave birth to an adorable little pup at the Great Tide Pool at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the two love to snuggle together. The newborn pup tries to sleep while laying on top of her mom floating in the tide pool. The wild California sea otter sought refuge at the pool to give birth to the baby. The mom has spent time grooming and fluffing her newborn’s fur to help her float. The aquarium says the duo will stay in the area before heading back into the wild.
