Now, let’s recap for a second. The great unwashed masses have been sufficiently admonished by the media and political elders of practically all hues that Trump is a no no, a proto-fascist narcissist on steroids, an opportunist ignoramus with no scruples whatsoever…one who would supposedly “desecrate” the supposedly sacred American presidency and blow up this nation faster than a huge asteroid— should he ever get near 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Ok. Roger that. (How such outcry can ever be taken seriously after having a malignant joke like Bush2 on the throne for 8 years or smooth criminal demagogs like Obama and Bill Clinton himself is impossible to fathom), but let us humor the establishment for a moment.
The problem is that while the mainstream liberal media concentrates its withering fire on Trump (people forget that the liberal mainstream is much more powerful than Fox News and its legions of willful idiots), the same “respectable” opinion continues to coalesce around Hillary, billed by many as the natural choice given Trump’s nastiness, etc., etc. but what people tend to forget when caught in such manufactured panics is that the vaunted saviour may be as bad or worse than the looming threat, as set forth in numerous articles on this site alone.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his simple and central fact should have come up already in the primaries, but never really caught much momentum. And so far, the fault is not so much with our stars but down here on this wretched earth, with Bernie. This was and remains much more than a perverse tactical error on Bernie’s part. We saw in a recent (brilliant) piece by Andy Levine (Bernie’s Tragic Flaw: Too Soft on Clinton) that the Sandernistas’ idol had virtually doomed his bid by supposedly playing too fair during the campaign, hitting Hillary with a wet noodle, wishing to talk about “the issues” and not indulging in the usual personality mudslinging—the stock-in-trade of professional bourgeois politicos.Sanders, whose candidacy is rapidly shrinking into oblivion, continues to defend this attitude, which in normal times, if such exist, would be commendable, but he misses the point (and so do his fans) by a wide margin. These are NOT normal times, and just about anyone with half a brain can see that. In fact, they may be the dreaded “end times” of prophecy, albeit brought to bear for very explainable and mundane reasons. In this context, Sanders’ posture, playing relatively nice with Hillary, is not only misguided and a tad priggish, but another symptom of the general dishonesty that permeates this campaign, afflicting even the man who many insist on seeing as above the smelly fray. For exposing Hillary’s true political nature and character, that is, focusing on her career as a willing shill of moneyed interests, and its corollary, being an eager instrument and cheerleader for the numerous crimes of the American ruling class —from coups in Latin America to the utter destruction of Syria, Libya (her crown jewel in policy disasters), the Ukraine and elsewhere— most under her watch, and her shameless enrichment —along with Hubby Bill, of slick fame—through crooked front organizations like the cynically created Clinton Foundation and its spawn the Clinton Global Initiative (see Clinton Disaster Fundraising: Predatory Humanitarianism? by Haiti’s foremost intellectual in exile, Dady Chery) is no tangential or frivolous matter, it IS the issue that the electorate, especially many Blacks and women, who follow this woman benightedly, should be considering now that HRC’s likelihood of becoming the next president increases by the day (a fact augmented by Obama’s obvious reluctance to press the FBI investigation into mailgate).
In such a polluted ambient, with folks gasping for air, help sometimes crops up in unlikely places. And so it is that it is none other than il Duce himself, Trump, the horror of horrors, who of late has been perceptively acting a bit more “presidential”, who furnishes the truth side with desperately needed ammo about Hillary, a job the craven Sanders should have been doing all along, not just to propel his own candidacy, but as a service to the nation since the media would not likely focus on impolitic truths once the circus moves on—but didn’t.
As it happens, Trump has been saying this for sometime, but never so coherently as he did in this recent interview (6.17.16) with CBS Norah O’Donnell.
The piece was (fortunately for us) mislabeled (“Trump on fundraising gap with Clinton…bla bla”), which is pretty innocuous as garbage goes in this country, so it looked like another item for O’Donnell’s bloated and worthless “important-political-figure” resume, filed by the hopelessly clueless star of CBS This Morning. So it got through the censoring gates. We can only wonder if the piece had carried a different tag, something closer to its actual material, like,
“Trump accuses Hillary of being a prisoner of moneyed interests, a job that Bernie should have done but didn’t.”
Now, that would have alerted the establishment gatekeepers. So, just watch this clip and see if you agree with us. Or not. And do note that Trump is not even including Hillary’s warmongering record here, as it is apparently beyond his mindscape.
