In pursuit of its Neocon-blueprint, Washington has unilaterally dismantled the safeguards against a “Mutual Assured Destruction” put in place over decades during the “old Cold War”, and continued its development of a “First Strike Capability”, a de-stabilizing program that America has never abandoned to this day. In this context, as expected for an American “news channel”, 60 Minutes gives the impression the US is a peace-loving nation that will only “respond” to an attack by another power, instead of being the most likely instigator and initiator of such insane exchange. Given the topic, and the urgency implicit in this report, this video should be readily available to all, but CBS in its unwisdom has not made it easy for citizen journalists to use the material and spread the word. HBO’S VICE SERIES ON THE NEW COLD WAR
The last selection is HBO’s VICE series on the same topic, the origins of the Cold War, and the Ukraine crisis. (Actually Syria is just as likely to bring the world to the edge of a nuclear war as the Ukraine). Being an American corporate tv product, VICE carries many of the sins of US propaganda with its subtle digs at Russia and emphasis on a supposed evil on the part of Moscow. Watch with caution. Useful because of the footage and other secondary aspects implicit in the production.
