BLITZ OPEDS | DIANE GEE
The almost surreal whining emanating from mainstream presstitutes about the necessity to control and regulate the Internet to stifle opinion or fact contradicting the official version of reality has elicited lucid and powerful commentary. Diane Gee, as usual, filed one of the most effective rebuttals of this highhanded attempt at putting out one of the last and most potent depositories of truth, even if the seekers need patience and a flexible mind to locate it. I hardly need to state here that the sanctimonious posturing of the media sycophants is as transparent as it is revolting. The simple fact is that truth about anything of real importance is simply not available on the mainstream media, no matter how long and hard we look. The reason is structural, organic. The corporate media’s mission is not to inform fairly or even entertain, but to serve the goals of its masters, the capitalist owners, who are always first and foremost in pursuit of profit, no matter what else they may say. Forever bound to defend the capitalist status quo despite its myriad crimes, inherent rot, hypocrisy and irrationality, the mainstream media can never offer diverse and free opinion, or even tolerably dependable journalism, but only carefully camouflaged simulacra of the same. Thus, as we might expect from such characters, with more and more people on to their indecent game, the wailing and the shouts of “foul” have begun. Have we already forgotten about Operation Mockingbird?—P. Greanville
So, suddenly there is an attack on “Fake News” as causal. This is not being done by the Trump administration outright, but the players behind the scene who have long used “weaponization of information” as a tool.
In fact, Trump who claimed to want to “drain the swamp” of insiders and career politicos has already been reined in by them; the former Democrat is filling his cabinet with ultra-conservative dividers, well versed in the ways of serving only the 1%’s interests and crushing dissent.
Meanwhile, the MSM transcribers are working at finding a way to get people used to the idea that they must censor information that comes from independent journalists, opinion that comes from free-thinking people, and as has already happened all over the Globe, the ability to crush communication of people who dissent in any way against their rule. They have their orders. They have their own fake news to produce, with their own dark agenda.
There is a disinformation problem in this country – we saw it when they tried to brand Stein as an anti-vaxxer, which she vehemently is not, was not, and never has been. There is a disinformation problem when they did not report on the thousands of Sanders’ supporters at every rally, only falsified Clinton’s numbers much larger than they were.
“The News is already Fake. Slanted. Filtered. Censored…”
There is a problem with every reporter reading the daily handouts word for word, given them by Murdoch Media and the 1% crowd. Fake News? They said “WMD’s, Saddam Hussein and 911” over and over, and we were told to believe them. They would not, and still will not allow images of our own dead coming home, let alone the devastation our attacks have on autonomous people elsewhere. They learned from Vietnam, that if we SAW it, we would CARE.
The News is already Fake. Slanted. Filtered. Censored.
Facebook itself has been falsifying algorithms for ages now, pumping up fluff, sinking real reporting. It now has agreed to censor more, from any site the MSM (read 1%) does not want seen.
Now, have I been duped? Yes. Do I think that “mirror sites” that use MSM names and make fake headlines should be closed? Yes. It is infringement. As bad as CNN is, if you click to “CNN” (or any other broadcast media) you should actually go to their site. I am sick of false celebrity death stories, and interviews that never took place on mirror sites pretending to be something they are not.
[dropcap]I [/dropcap]may find Natural News repugnant disinformation, and Infowars as babbling idiocy… but they have their own name, their own URL and a right to publish. As much as I appreciate Zero Hedge and RT for ferreting out information, I know they also have their own slant.
What happened to letting us discern what is verifiable for ourselves, letting us use our own “bullshit filters” for lack of a better term, when reading any author? What happened to Freedom of Speech, and questioning minds?
That was rhetorical, of course. We all know the answer. An informed populace would never allow their own abuse and degradation for the profits of the few. Would never allow the poisoning of our water and air. Would never allow children to be blown apart in our names, for the misfortune of being born where the rich want to extract more oil.
They know we no longer believe the media, from the left or the right. They know that we are beginning to believe one another more than them. So they must shut down any and all reporting that does not follow their message, and is transcribed exactly how they are told to.
The TRUTH is out there, and we are far too close to finding it.
We are not children, and we need not their “protection.”
We will not be muzzled.
This is DANGEROUS ground.
APPENDIX
We thought this segment of a dialog between John Walsh and Diane Gee deserved special display in a post.
On Sun, Nov 20, 2016 John Walsh wrote to Diane Gee:
You write:
” …the problem is not just about a bunch of bad individuals, but about the culture that goes with them. If you could somehow lock up the entire Illuminati, but you did not manage to change the culture that generated them, then it would quickly generate a new batch of Illuminati.
And they do not have a culture separate from ours. They do not have their own poets, their own musicians, their own cinematographers. I’m talking about OUR culture. It’s part of our everyday way of life.”
Absolutely. Where is the so-called “deep state”? To a certain degree it is in us. We defeat it by taking action against our rulers and in the course of that action – not by any introspection- we will change things and in the process change ourselves. That will begin the process.
Diane Gee replies:
“The Deep State” or “Illuminati” are boogeymen words, meant to keep reasonable people from discussing what Capitalism is, and does. It is en extraction process that pulls all the water from the ground and up into a tower, then throw back a teaspoonful for the people to compete for every gallon we extract for it.
Wealth begets wealth on the wealthy; in schooling, health care, opportunity and assets passed ever on to offspring.
People cannot change the fabric of the system without recognizing it for what it is in the first place. What we have is essentially untitled nobility here, a class who prefers very much to stay politely quiet because history has taught them that people tend to overthrow overt rulers, sometimes violently.
Language matters. Prior to Occupy, few people even understood there was a small fraction of humans in our country that hold almost all the assets. That was a step toward problem solving, or could have been – just entering the concept into the national dialogue in the first place.
Changing “elected” leaders in this system changes neither the system or the process that created it: Capitalism, Patriarchy, Greed.
It has been studied and well published that the poor have more empathy, are more prone towards socialist principles…. they tend to have community gardens, tend toward sticking up for one another – the Bay Area’s rash of homicides on unarmed blacks was the birthplace of BLM, because they have and still do weekly meals for the poor, clothes drives, crowd fund funerals, and protest the killings.
These are the people under the greatest socio-economic stressors in our Nation.
Unfortunately, as the class war reaches its pinnacle, more and more people will also suffer dire financial crises. Every study shows that the income disparity between the top echelons (whose ranks are becoming smaller) and the lower echelons is growing almost exponentially.
Less money, fewer jobs, more debt, and far less Democracy. Look to Snyder’s Michigan to see the how “Emergency Managers” have been appointed, and in their wake have privatized what was left of the communal assets of the citizens – a full 22 of our largest industrial cities are now without elected governments.
The crisis is coming, whether or not we like it. What type of change, the dialogue under which people understand it is the ONLY thing we can affect in any way. If using the terms “1% or “deep state” or even “illuminati” is helpful in making people think about class war is a valid question. I think the first two tends to help people understand, the latter smacks of secret handshakes and illicit meetings and seems to CT.
As far as the uber-rich operating within the same culture, not so much. They don’t eat what we eat, where we eat, they don’t walk our streets, they walk private islands, yachts and enclaved areas, and their children’s idea of normalcy is having any given “poet or musician” show up at their 8th Birthday Party to give them their own little concert. Hardly “one of us,” but common among their tiny set of peers. Which in older times, would have been “royalty” – now is just generational moneyed.
Buying, selling, trading is more of a genteel, well played chess match to them… I cannot believe they have the concept of what closing plants means to people, or they would not so blithely and carelessly ruin lives. I cannot believe they would think nothing of “destabilizing” a country to get to its oil or gas, knowing the devastation and price in blood it truly costs. So, either they ARE bad, immoral individuals, or they have a culture so different than ours, they truly don’t know the depths of their actions.
I suppose my way of thinking is too radical for most people. There was talk about 6 years ago about moving the financial centers from the East Coast to Michigan. Now private investors are buying huge swaths of properties from the fleeing poor in privatized cities like Detroit and Flint. Cities where they shut off or poison the water. Cities that no longer provide street lights, garbage pick up, yet can afford to militarize the police.
Climate change is real, and we have fresh water, no projected impact from rising seas, and will become a temperate zone.
So, yes, I believe there is planning involved. I am cynical enough to believe they know that with the coming climate change, that a Police State is needed, that the energies and angers of the people competing for ever fewer resourced need to be channeled at one another (divide and conquer) and that they need to kill off many of us “useless eaters” in order to have enough resources for themselves in the wake of disaster.
So, ultimately, we cannot (if wishes were horses….) change the fabric of the system without trying to over-ride the disinformation the elite class loves to push: “Your problems are all because of the Muslims, the Hispanics, the Blacks, the Gays” with a clear message that our problems are indeed caused by the greed of the 1% – from war abroad to class war at home.
How else do we change the culture without giving the words to describe it to the masses? How do we “take action” against our rulers without common cause large enough to make a dent against them?
Language matters.

CBS (and the establishment media) weigh in to start laying the foundation for an attack on “non official” news.

WHEN A RIGHTIST HAPPENS TO BE RIGHT
HERE’S A RIGHTWING SITE telling it like it is (as far as the mainstream liberal media is concerned, although this fellow conveniently forgets that during the ramp up to war in Iraq, Fox News and the rest of the Republican noise machine were trumpeting the call for war as stridently as the liberals, proving that it is the pro-capitalist establishment that is rotten to the core). Instructive, anyhow, as just about everything he states cannot be refuted. Democratic party treachery and hypocrisy put us all in the shit can.
And then, how about that vaunted media diversity of viewpoint and news coverage? Thousands of radio stations, hundreds of tv channels, and yet uniformity is simply overwhelming, cookie-cutter media.

Great article – Thank you! Maybe repealing the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act (2012) that makes it “legal” for the State Department and broadcasters to spread propaganda for American consumption would be a place to start. Also recognizing that television does terrible damage to society at large. There was a book published back in the 70’s called “Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television” by Jerry Mathers, a former advertising executive, which listed the psychological harm it does.
It is true that all is false, but then indoctrination begins at birth, when the child is coddled in blue or pink swathing. It is forced to choose after that in tight binary trends of male or female in order to fit into the community. In the US those roles are extra sharp because everyone must ‘belong’ in a basically centrifugal frontier society. Thus homogenized as it were into a pattern of becoming a number, the child grows into a ‘normalized’ adult. Thus the adult’s head is filled with rubbish taught by its parents and school, so that she or… Read more »
This lady just blew my mind. It takes a sharp mind to see under the thick layer of bullshit and dissimulation hiding the native plutocracy—a nobility in fact—as Ms Gee so aptly notes.
“People cannot change the fabric of the system without recognizing it for what it is in the first place. What we have is essentially untitled nobility here, a class who prefers very much to stay politely quiet because history has taught them that people tend to overthrow overt rulers, sometimes violently…”
Tom Paine could not have said it better.
