1. The NSA / Intercept lies
On the latest absurd claim that the Russkies were involved in highjacking US elections and other nefarious deeds. The "Reality Winner" psyop is pathetic, but with Big Media supports it contributes to the climate of Russian demonization and doubt, the old Big Lie technique, repeat a falsehood long enough and it will be believed—especially by a terribly ignorant, distracted and largely indifferent public. On YouTube, Sane Progressive has been doing terrific work sorting out this latest mess:
SANE PROGRESSIVE } Lee Burkett This story is..confusing, to say the least, almost diabolically calculated to fracture whatever · Forest City, PA · Just spit balling here. I don't think it's stretching things to say that if the evidence points to the Russian government, then it's almost guaranteed that it wasn't the Russian government. Why The Intercept? Speculation here, but The Intercept has very much been the voice of the portion of left who have been challenging the Clinton/DNC narrative. Because there are real journalists at The Intercept, they felt a moral obligation to reveal what information they had received. And by revealing it, in one fell swoop, the naysayers have the rug pulled out from under them. The Intercept claims to have verified the information. What does that mean? Have they seen the raw data? If so, why wasn't that printed? The reaction from the vocal left would have been very different if HuffPo or The Washington Post had been the source. And how embarrassing for HuffPo and The Washington Post to have to acknowledge that The Intercept, on their list of fake news sites, is the source for breaking the story. There's a complex, multi-leveled game being played out here. And once again, evidence is short while speculation is very long. At the end of the day we could be falling over the truth and not recognize it all. Here's the thing: Meanwhile we have a five page document. It's an analysis of information that we haven't seen, and it's content and conclusions are only as valid as the raw data used. It's worth pointing out that due to FOIA requests it's possible to go online and read detailed formerly top secret CIA and NSA analysis of how a Zombie outbreak could occur, how it might be contained, how the government should respond, and the impact such an event would have on continuity of government. Intelligence analysis of the sort revealed in the five pages assume that all evidence has been authenticated. The approach applies to real world events and completely manufactured scenarios. Can we get a grip? Nothing, at this point, has been proven. I had posted this in a previous post: Someone wanted to know my level of expertise of IT. Saying I seemed to be making a lot assumptions. There's still no evidence. What is imperialism? Much like living species, capitalism aims to insure the reproduction of its species--and so it adapts. One of the forms of adaptation capitalism must adopt to insure its reproduction is imperialism--that is to say it has to expand at a certain stage of its development. This stage is determined by two main "crises"--the crisis of overproduction and the crisis of declining rate of profit. Overproduction means that the national state has to go international to acquire new markets. Declining rate of profit means that resources must be found outside the nation state that will enhance the rate of returns on capital investment. These resources are cheap armies of labor and cheap natural resources, which can only be secured by seizing lands that belong to other people--colonizing, for short. Imperialism, therefore, is not just "greed," but the necessary condition for capitalist survival by any state with a crisis such as US capitalism was hit with in the 1970s: flat rate of profit, overproduction, demarcated markets, relatively empowered domestic armies of labor, limited access to staggering amounts of needed resources (predominantly oil, the juice of the capitalist machine). The seizing of oil resources need not only be for consumption; more importantly, the control of the oil tap means control of the world economy. To solve the crisis of the 1970s capitalist economy, enter neo-liberal prescriptions, which freed US capitalism from the shackles of the domestic economy. It is a deceptive term, for neo-liberalism means the re-colonization of the world for the renewal of US (and groupees) capitalism. Neoliberalism's real name is IMPERIALISM. It is the last stage of capitalism, because after imperialism, no further adaptation is possible--except the conquest of the galaxy. Returning to the analogy with Darwin's theory of evolution, the species "capitalism" has adopted a form of adaptation that leads to a dead end. It has become a "sport of nature"--the wrong path to saving the species in the long run. However, there was hardly any other choice. This species will perish. This is probably the key "contradiction" of capitalism: suicide by adaptation. · Tehran parliament Thinking . . . after Pepe Escobar wrote that Tehran attacks were carried out by that horrible group MEK (which fought with IRAQ in the war with Iran) Regarding 6/7 terrorist attack in Tehran, CIA may have charged MEK to carry out attacks and then claimed it was Isis, to present to the public the idea that Isis is in Iran--and so US/EU "coalition" must go after Isis in Iran.. But Jaysus--who writes this stuff? On the other hand, it would be hard for Isis to infiltrate Iran, so a ruse had to be invented. BUT THE IMPORTANT POINT IS: IF MEK did it, Isis claimed it. WHY? The point is that whether Isis did it or not, it has claimed responsibility. If the media reports that it was Isis, that's what the imperialists wants us to believe. Now, that 's the question that should concern us--NOT who may have done it. Why has Isis--a Western paramilitary strumptroop--claimed responsibility in the media? To focus: Trump said he would fight terrorism in Iran; Isis claims responsibilty for a terror attack in Tehran. . Trump's war is officially against Isis. Today we learn that Isis is in Iran. Ergo: we must go to Iran. Public opinion is being prepared for attack on Iran (which, frankly, will never happen). You see my point. Don't get distracted. There is no reason to give MEK the credit--stick to Trump's [the Deep State] objectives, and it will all make sense. 4. Patriotism needs to be redefined The Democrats obsession with Trump, and lately the spurious "Russian hacking" distracts the masses from who the real enemy is, the system itself, which very much includes the supposedly friendly Democrats. Here's the thing: (ps: In over a decade not one single release of information from wikileaks has proven to be false. That's hundreds of thousands of pages. Now, if you want to argue that in this case, for the first time, that the info was false AND that the source was a Russian agent ... you're only making your attempt to defend Clinton even more laughable and even less defensible.) What we do know, what's been evident all along, what was never hidden, is that the Trump Empire and the wealthy, new capitalists in Russia have been cozy for a long time. Now, if someone wants to uncover all of that, present it to us as treason, then I'm on board. I mean, a billionaire making deals with a billionaire from another country that damages the poor, the hungry, the homeless ... I think we need to redefine the word treason, remove it from concepts of patriotism and nationalism. We need to understand that our enemies are no longer tied to political systems or contained within national borders. Our enemies are not governments. Transnational globalism that supports nothing more than profit at the expense of the global human community is the real enemy. So come on DNC- reveal how transnational corporations make their deals, and why, and how THAT alone is treason, and I'll be right with ya. 5. Mental Fragmentation PATRICE GREANVILLE The advanced rot we see everywhere in imperial culture, the almost ubiquitous confusion, causes bizarre manifestations. A correspondent recently sent me the following material, which deserves your attention, if only as an excellent example of how someone can seem to be perfectly spot on, even brilliant in diagnosing the systemic disease affecting us all, and then suddenly goes off the rails, regurgitating absurd memes from the very Matrix he's trying to denounce. At that point you see the fellow's strange cognitive implosion may be due to his being a rabid anti-statist libertarian who, like many right-wingers, sees the world upside down and has no problem calling a 100% capitalist specimen like Hillary Clinton, "the embodiment of Communist Chinese totalitarianism." That said, he does say things which, as I warned you already, make a great deal of sense, which only deepens the mystery: How can a mind have the lucidity to zero in on some important truths and miss the mark completely in other areas? Is it a question of simple information? A matter of temperament, as I have often argued? You be the judge. Below a sample of what we could call the sane exposition by this source. The intransigent absolutist tone should have tipped us off soon enough, but that is sometimes a matter of style, the emphasis used to wake up the reader to a major TRUTH. Still, as you get deeper into the essay the author's myopias and political leanings begin to emerge, delineating a far less admirable witness to reality than previously suggested. But when a radical Muslim father who’s trying to bring Sharia Law to America attacks Trump by expressing his loss of his soldier son, the media turns him into an instant celebrity, praising his “courageous voice” for daring to speak out. Time to step back, take a deep breath and figure out what's really going on.
So Reality Leigh Winner, an employee of a privately owned security enhancement and analysis company, has been arrested for leaking a top secret document that alleges to prove Russian involvement in attempts to interfere with the 2016 election.
The document itself contains no evidence, no raw data. It's 5 pages of analysis based on evidence none of us has seen.
Any hacker smart enough to crack into the DNC system is also smart enough to cover their tracks. They could certainly make it appear that the attack came from anywhere on Earth. And, if they wanted to make it appear that the hack was Russian in origin, then they would use Russian subprograms and techniques.
I'm guessing, but I assume The Intercept verified that their source was employed by Pluribus International Corporation, not that the documents themselves are true.
Vetting your source is step one. Vetting the nature of what's revealed is a very different thing. I'm not trashing The Intercept, in this case verifying the authenticity of the data is beyond their ability, beyond the ability of any of us outside the highest levels of the intelligence apparatus.
Now the "real news" people are quoting the "fake news" people. It only deepens the mystery of who we are to trust.
And that's the purpose of the game, isn't it?
Now we're arguing about The Intercept, the motivations and political leaning of it's owner, the integrity of Greenwald and Hedges, where the information came from, how The Intercept got it, how they handled the information, how they vetted both the source and the info, how the government responded, and why and how they responded exactly the way they did, how it relates to Trump, Clinton, the DNC and what their various motivations are, it's possible impact on the election results, arguing about Reality Leigh Winner, her motivations, whether she's a tool of the Trump camp or the Clinton camp, if she's a patsy or a sincere citizen, if the CIA or NSA concocted the whole thing, or whether it's a limited hang out or an actual leak ...
I wish I could say I made that up.
We all knew the DNC had been hacked. We all knew that voting machines have been hacked.
Those are the only verifiable facts available right now.

I'm not an IT expert. But I'm familiar with what experts have to say about the field. What I said is essentially a paraphrase of something John McAfee said in an interview with Larry King.
John McAfee was the founder of McAfee Security.
I submit if anyone knows what they're talking about when it comes to IT and IT security and hacking, it's Mr. McAfee.

I've been waiting for something like this, but I didn't realize it until it happened. You know what I mean- an event happens and it suddenly makes a lot of random. disconnected thoughts coalesce into a neat logical package?

There's a big push to paint this whole thing as a treasonous act. I still haven't seen any evidence that convinces me there's a shred of truth to that accusation.
Election tampering? That's a laugh. Even if we accept that Russia leaked information about the Clinton campaign- no proof of that- in order to influence the election, at the end of the day we still have to accept that the information leaked was all true.
