Listening to politicians in the UK bemoan the demise of the mythical "center". As if parties which wage permanent war, and allow the economic Middle Class to have its lifeblood sucked out by the wealthy 1%, parties which have permitted the rapid growth of a worldwide police-surveillance state, parties which have allowed the environment to be destroyed, stealing our common future and converting it into financial assets ... are somehow "centrist" moderates. The fact is that the "Center" has been the Right in a very poor disguise for a very long time now. My handkerchief is dry. And by the way ... The Russians Did Not Do It. (painting: "The Philosophers" by Dorothea Tanning)

It's official, Qatar "alone" is responsible for creating, arming, training and financing "all" terrorist groups in the Middle East.

We've heard it from reliable parties like the US (leader of the free world) Saudi Arabia (Head of the UN Human Rights Council) the EU (beacon of democracy and Justice) and a few others who have jumped on the bandwagon to shed any blame from themselves and load it all on scapegoat Qatar.

Qatar may be guilty of partly financing terrorists, but it's by no means alone in that endeavour.

Bernhard Rohrbeck But, but, but Quatar was one of the first to help bomb that dictator Muammar Gaddafi? And help bomb that country into pieces?  What now - as Muammar Gaddafi predicted, if the Arabs do not become true allies, one after the other will be hanged, like Saddam?  They all laughed, when he said that.
Jocelyn Blease And the reveal proves him right every single day.

Viczter Cruz Didn't I say the day it broke out -- Qatar is the "Fall-Guy" or "Sacrificial Lamb"

Susi Adamson This is just ridiculous blaming Quatar for terrorism, especially coming from Saudi Arabia, they have financed and supported their brand of Islam for decades, setting up schools all over the Islamic world, I.e. Pakistan, Afghanistan, India ( Kashmir) , Malaysia, Indonesia etc. etc., I don't have to explain what type of schools, Al Jazeera is based in Quatar !!! A big thorn in their eyes, as for most westerners its shameful to suck up to the Saudis, no questions WHY.
Charles Anderson Jr. I read that after the sweet arms deal that trump signed with Saudi, Saudi feels they have the power to take over Qatar, completely benefit from a possible victory in Syria, then use Qatar as the terror funding scapegoat. All B.S., of course, but Saudi Arabia may be stupid and arrogant enough to go through with it.

Dozens of Syrian refugee families who had been living in refugee camps in Lebanon, are returning to Syria and their homes after the liberation of western Qalamoun by Syrian and Hezbollah forces. Worth noting that no refugees have yet returned to areas where the US-led coalition is operating.

George Ades
13 hrsThe Syrian State media is reporting that the leader of ISIS has been killed following an air-raid by the Syrian Air Force on Raqqa.

The US-led coalition has made several claims of having killed this elusive terrorist leader in the past that have proven false, however, this is the first time the Syrians themselves make such a claim. Let's hope that their information is more reliable than that of the western forces, we know that the Syrians' fight against the terrorists, unlike that of the west, is genuine.

June 8 at 6:14pmBahrain joins Saudi Arabia in forbidding their citizens from expressing "sympathy" for Qatar on Social Media. The punishment is incarceration if they do.....and no doubt a few lashes in the square.
George Ades Hey, Saudi Arabia is heading the Human Rights Council at the UN

Ingrid Buckner George Ades thanks for reminding me ..

Borut Kozel George Ades i thought they'll lead HR panel from 2018- 2021(2022). but if they do already...world has gone utterly insane
Muzammil Syed Ironically, Bahrain is mostly Shia and has sympathies for Iran. Puzzle it is as you mentioned George
Zubair Qureshi Simon Mountford and Muzammil Syed the rulers are not sunnis but wahhabis. At least you people should know the difference for God sake stop calling wahhabis as sunnis. Wahhabis call themselves sunnis in order to legitimise themselves but other sunni seminaries have long excommunicated them decades ago. Its just that today bcz of their wealth and support from US they have managed to fund their own mosque and create their bases in all muslim country and have sidelined actual sunnis
Simon Mountford UAE said that any sympathy towards Qatar would result in a $128,000 fine and lashes !!!!  How did the West allow a group of Arabian Camel herders to take control of the World ! and to carry on with their Barbarism ?
Zubair Qureshi Read the history about creation of saudi arabia. West did it bcz they wanted to dismantle ottoman empire and any future legitimate and mainstream muslim rule over lavent and pallestine and hejaz so they used these nomadic barbaric wahhabis to overthrow the hashemite government of hejaz and ottoman rule over pallestine so that they can finally create israel without any hindrance

Emanuel Ghebre Zubair Qureshi I notice the levant arabs seem civilized versus the nomadic gulf arabs (not all gulf arabs)...they seem more progressive and less brutish compared to the gulf ones...is this a correct summary?
Zubair Qureshi Yes . The gulf fake arabs ( in reality nomadic people who settled in arabian peninsula) are generally backward and oppressive because of their nomadic roots. However again when we say gulf arabs we must realise that the present day saudi arabia is no longer a gulf only country. Today its border encompass the hejaz and other non gulf areas which it captured in 1920s and 30s with help of british . However there was a time when saudi arabia was a small gulf principality limited to najd region, just like other gulf jokers namely UAE qatar bahrain and kuwait.
Emanuel Ghebre Zubair Qureshi i believe somewhere down the line they have a bit of desi blood but they deny it due to their views on desi's. Is this also correct? i'm assuming they have desi blood because of the proximity to hindustan and pakistan. i'm assuming during the peak of the spice trade, some of the desi traders possibly left "their mark" in these gulf states while trading.

Zubair Qureshi No. Indians were wary of sea trade. Most of the spice traders use to come to india and take their spice with them. Indians hardly reached out to europe or arabian area.

The arab traders were mostly yamenis or hejazis and not nomads of gulf. Nomads never actually participated in sea trades . They usually use target and loot land caravans . The nomads of gulf (known as bedouins ) were hated for these attacks on caravans by original ethnic semitic arabs .

Emanuel Ghebre Zubair Qureshi interesting...you know a lot of history and random facts..cool.

Kurt Ruzsicska Because Simon, the west are even more barbaric

Puzzle for strong minds....

Qatar, that has been funding Islamist terrorists in the ME, are challenged by KSA, that has also been funding terrorists in the region. Iran, that has been fighting these same terrorists in Syria has somehow managed to form a working relationship with Qatar, which has upset KSA. Turkey (a NATO country) that has played an important role in distributing moneys and weapons "donated" to the terrorists by these two countries has taken a clear position on the side of Qatar and by extension Iran. Israel, that absolutely loathes Iran and everything Iran stands for, supports KSA and goes against Qatar and Turkey. The US (that owns NATO) that is joined at the hip with Israel and it's beholden to the KSA for keeping the petrodollar alive, will definitely be on their side even though they will make noises of trying to reconcile the two sides. Hamas, that has been supported by Qatar but not by KSA, know what side their bread is buttered on, so their loyalty is with Qatar and against Israel and its "allies" in the region; the same applies for the now battle-hardened Hezbollah. Egypt's Sissi, unhappy with the Turks, is siding with KSA and by extension the US and Israel.

I generally like to draw a straight line between A and B, but this meander has got me puzzled as to how it will play out.

Hemoshree Chatterjee Will it be possible for the US to totally side with the Saudis, what about the US military base in Qatar, won't there be a problem if they do not back the Qataris?
George Ades If they don't back the Qataris, the Qataris will no longer be in control of their country.

Qatar has placed its armed forces on the highest level of alert and has issued a warning to all concerned: "You enter our territorial waters and your ships will be sunk."

This is not a "David Vs Goliath" situation, Qatar is relying on powerful "allies". The question is who? Is Iran going to assume an active role alongside Turkey that has already committed forces in support? What of the US (Israel), will they be able to resist putting the boot in against Iranian troops?

Anita Bruckner Our piece on the Qatar crisis via Pepe Escobar, Brazilian journalist:

For Iran this is a chance to further blow up the GCC by intensifying its relations with Qatar. It could increase its food exports to the country and host Qatar airline flights. This in exchange for a Qatari retreat from Syria. The U.S./Saudi plan of confronting Iran through the GCC would then be in complete jeopardy.
Iran did exactly what I prescribed - NBC:

A top Iranian agricultural official responded by announcing Monday that Iran could send food shipments to Qatar by ship. He said the shipments would take 12 hours to reach Qatar. It is not known if any shipments have yet arrived.
...
An Iranian transportation official said Tuesday that Qatari flights bound to North Africa and Europe that used to cross Saudi, Egyptian or Kuwaiti airspace can now travel over Iran, Iraq and Jordan. Flights to Northern Europe can cross Iran.
Today Qatar officially asked Iran and Turkey for additional food supplies.

Chris Vlaar Qatar is just as bad, but that's not the reason for the aggression, to bring democracy to Qatar and SA would be a very good idea. (If anyone can find real democracy anywhere, certainly there is none in the "West"—editor)
Dewayne Manc I think we have a lot of MSM propaganda about Qatar. If SA doesn't like them then so what? Who could be worse than SA? The US, UK and Zionists are about the same.
Dewayne Manc Chris Vlaar You should research Qatar. That is the only middle eastern country with ongoing democratic reforms and a somewhat free media.. SA is a total dictatorship and dirty as sin. Anyone who thinks they are better than Qatar is a nut job.
Ali Musawi It wont be Iran, I think Turkey will send soldiers to simply prevent the Saudis from thinking it will be easy to take Qatar. The Turkish parliament has already for allowing the army to open a base in Qatar.

Ali Musawi Apologies, it is not opening a base but sending reinforcement which is likely an attempt to deter Al-Saud from any military confrontations. Is that satisfying to you?
Anita Bruckner From what I heard, its not just Iran...its a couple of other major players behind Qatar but who will get involved is a good question.

If my only option was to be left homeless or volunteer to drop bombs on children in a far-off land, I would be counting the stars of the night sky.

But then again, I don't share the "American values."

George Ades

In 1962, the world was brought to the brink of nuclear war because the then Soviet Union attempted to install nuclear weapons on Cuba (US neighbourhood), in response to the nuclear weapons the US had installed in Turkey (the Soviet Union's neighbourhood).

Today, the US has not only installed its military hardware on Russia's doorstep, moved its troops right on the borders of Russia and added more than a dozen new members to the NATO alliance (US military tool) all close to Russia, despite the assurances given by a US President that "NATO will not expand one inch eastward toward Russia", but Russia is the one accused of being the "aggressor" and of having "expansionist" ambitions.

Russia has never, ever threatened the US or any of its moronic minions. It is only concerned with safeguarding its own territory which is being threatened on a daily basis by the US (that has travelled across an ocean and a continent to get there) and the aforementioned lapdogs.

These are the facts and they are indisputable, so forgive me if I get furious with the idiotic comments I read every day like: "Putin is ex-KGB and I don't trust him", or that "Russia is behind the failure of [the psychopath] Clinton to win the elections against Trump", or even that "Russia has invaded Ukraine" (If they had they could have captured the entire country within 48 hours).

I do appreciate that a lot of American friends are just as disgusted by their country's leadership (over at least the last 50 years) as the rest of us are, but at the end of the day, American planes that drop bombs on innocent civilians are not flown by American politicians and American boots on the ground are filled with American feet. There is such a regulation in the military that entitles every man in uniform, be they officers or enlisted men, to refuse to obey an illegal order or fight in an illegal war. Soldiers do not defend their countries and families by fighting in lands thousands of miles away from their shores. That cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be called "defence". The hundreds of billions of your tax dollars every year, are not spent on protecting your country, but the interests of a select few at the expense of the many, both at home and abroad.

Dear friends, it cannot be denied that the US and the cowardly lackeys every bully is surrounded by, are the aggressors and though it would be unfair to blame all Americans for their country's shortcomings, there is a large segment of that country's population that fully supports the "tyrant's" illegal actions.

You are not "God's chosen people"; that claim has already been made by others and they are just as wrong.
If I never hear another American tell a veteran "Thank you for your service", (service to whom?) again, it will still be too soon.

The murder of hundreds of thousands of innocents committed in your name, does you no credit; especially when demonstrations against wars in the US consist of a half a dozen people and a home-made placard that get no media attention, while protests against the idiotic Trump and the juvenile comments he made about women draw tens of thousands of you and continue for weeks on end.

It's time to wake up and above all, it's time to grow up; your immaturity is killing us.

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n response to Bernie Sanders alleged barn burning speech in Chicago.

How can Bernie’s supporters still be marinating in toxic innocence about his true relationship with and his place within the Democratic Party? Still, despite all evidence to the contrary, they cling to the reality-bereft notion that he can and will act as a redeemer figure to the irredeemably corrupt Party as opposed to the Judas Goat he has proven himself to be.

Yep. You might have surmised. I don't feel the burn. I’m burnt out on Comrade Bernie. I feel like a burnt offering placed before corrupt Democratic Party deities. Why? Not once did Bernie call out the Clinton Campaign and their toadies in the DNC for their election malfeasance thus he betrayed his credulous flock. Instead, he delivered them to a candidate who stood for everything he claims to stand against.

But it is not only his Judas Goat proclivities, he, in stark contrast to Jeremy Corbyn, is a drone murder apologist, a liberacrat imperialist who slags Russia, he urged the Saudis to bomb more countries, and he embodies all the genocide-enabling proclivities of a garden variety liberal Zionists. Moreover, history reveals, the Democratic Party is the reeking landfill of leftist, labouring class, and minority socio-economic movements. If Sanders was sincere, he would not act as an advocate for the irredeemably corrupt Democratic party -- but be would break the news to his followers, they will only truly feel the burn by the act of burning down the infamous thing -- so that a true leftist/socialist party could be seeded in its compost and ashes.

“Bernie did the best under the circumstance,” Berniecrats are prone to respond.

Demonstrably false. Sanders, had he made an honest effort, would have called out the Clintonites and their operatives in the DNC, all through the primaries season, and, in particular, after the Wikileaks revelations about their malfeasance. He even stood silent when his supporters were insulted and bullied at the Democratic convention. In short, he has revealed, by his actions, he is far from worthy of trust and his declarations are to be regarded with incredulity.

“So what is your solution? A two-party system is what we have.”

Easy enough. As Voltaire averred about the miseries inflicted by the dogma of The Church and its hold on the collective mind of the populace, the solution will be found in "Ecrassez l'infame!" i.e., “crush the infamous thing” i.e., the Democratic Party

“But that risks too much chaos,” blubber Fainting Couch Liberals.

You haven't seen anything yet. Capitalism lurches from bubble to bubble. An economic collapse comes to pass every seven or so years. We are a year overdue. And this time, there will not be trillions to funnel to the Wall Street crooks who caused the collapse, as their quisling Obama, AKA President Drone von Citigroup, did. Political duopoly, the enabler of capitalist despotism, is the problem, rotten root to noxious bloom. And Bernie Sanders is one of the system’s constant gardeners.
