LEE CAMP—According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, “Wildfires in the western United States have been increasing in frequency and duration since the mid-1980s. Between 1986 and 2003, wildfires occurred nearly four times as often, burned more than six times the land area, and lasted almost five times as long when compared to the period between 1970 and 1986.”

There are many other ways the heating up of our planet is destroying our ability to survive, but extreme fires are perhaps the most obvious. If there’s ONE TIME the corporate media should mention that we are boiling ourselves and eliminating a future on this planet, it should be when grand historic cities like Athens, Greece are literally on fire.

The craven subservience of the European Union to Washington’s diktats is a disgrace that opens the road to far greater threats to world peace.

In a practical sense, the forming of the defense committees will mean that one spokesperson from each of Venezuela’s 50,000 communal councils will undergo training with the country’s Bolivarian Militia units. Those selected representatives will then form a link between the Venezuelan state’s militias and the communal councils, which since 2006 have organized groups of 20 to 400 families across the national territory.

MOA—Last fall a campaign in Israeli media claimed that Russia had agreed to push Iran away from the border with Israel. Russia denied that anything like that happened. Iranian forces in Syria are legitimately there. In late May a similar campaign repeated that scheme. It claimed that the Russian Foreign Minister had agreed to move Iran out, when in fact he had called on U.S. forces to leave Syria. Moon of Alabama documented both campaigns.

Pass on that tempting Peking Duck next time you see it on the menu. And don’t join the horde of idots blasting these animals out of the sky—for kicks.
