MOST EXCELLENT COMMENTS: Pavimentov on the Trumpian riddle
The obstinate, partially self-inflicted blindness of the never-trumpers eventually congealed in that now notorious political impairment, the Trump Derangement Syndrome. But —it bears repeating—it was the liberals’ own betrayals, rank hypocrisy and sanctimonious methods —which continue to this day—that also fed Trump’s popularity among the most backward segments of the population.

Chomsky recently put it very succinctly and correctly, Trump is but a salesman for the Republican party. The party is for the US owners only, but it needs of course a large support from voters, who are against abortion, for religion, adore patriotism etc., subjects which do not interest the owners, but which attract the voting public. That is the function Trump fulfills and he is successful at it. The small group of owners of the economy have no ethics, nor religion nor any attachment to any country nor care about abortions but as they are a small group, do need universal approval. Chomsky’s audience, mostly of academics and students failed to appreciate his very correct analysis as they are stuck on to the demonization of Trump thereby totally ignoring and even legitimizing his employers. Such is the false dream of democracy and such is also the hypocrisy of US society, which fails to understand and see its own hypocritical demands.
What a very excellent simile of the mob boss’s wife ! But it is unfortunately not only just the US population that has suffered this distortion of our reality. It has been experienced in Britain and before that in France and so down the ages and it is not solely restricted to the Europeans as Vltchek would have it. I am sure that the Egyptians went through the same exceptionalist state. Maybe with this last US phenomenon, humanity will rise up and do away with these vile imperialist ambitions before we all expire from our own madness.
