The sloth's gestures say it all. The animal appears grateful for being saved from a highly probable death on the road. (We only wish his saviour had put him on a tree deeper into the woods, and gfarther away from the highway.)

The wheels of business and human food compulsions are implacable and totally lacking in compassion. This is a downed cow, badly hurt, but still being dragged to slaughter.
