Chrystia Freeland’s self-serving and mendacious tweet kicks off storm among those who know WW2 history
We are indebted to Richard Sanders for bringing this matter to our attention.
Please share Freeland's outrageous tweet about "our ... grandfathers" role in WWII.
All the soldiers of the fascist Waffen SS division of Ukrainians swore an oath to die for Hitler and yet her tweet puts them on the side of fighting for "freedom and prosperity"!
"Here is another zinger. Note who she praises most ... and are freedom and prosperity not the neoliberal bywords of today? rewriting history has lots of different manifestations when you have a reason to deny the truth like she does and turn a nazi legacy into its opposite."

Jed Lehman I had 2 uncles who served in World War 2 for Canada. Freeland's tweets and actions are an insult to their memory.

Miguel del Bosque My maternal grandfather fought with Polish underground partisans against Nazi occupation.
This is indeed deeply insulting, outlandish, an abhorrent distortion of everything he fought for.
How grotesque to twist, distort history for political gain, propaganda purposes.
Absolutely vile!
Puke if you must
This bloodsoaked monster is probably the most evil person on planet earth https://t.co/nGq2H1EPHt
