Notice it says "Sanders' aides", not "Sanders".  In fact, some of Sanders' aides—not most of his more loyal followers—hold rather peculiar semi-corporatist and imperialist views on many subjects, including foreign policy, where Sanders proved a HUGE disappointment, joining the Trump lynching mob on Venezuela (as did all leading Democrats).
