Gas Sales: The REAL Reason For Ukraine War
Guess what folks, the Ukraine war could be the preamble for the Third World War, or a nuclear war that could truly be the war to end all wars. (And human history).
While ALL US wars, especially in the wake of WW2 and a bit later the implosion of the Soviet Union, can be traced to economic motives and corporate greed, the Ukraine War is part of an even broader conflict, one waged by the US and its vassal nations, collectively designated as "the West", to defeat and balkanise Russia, and immediately thereafter conquer and subjugate China. The US sees this course of action as desirable because the American empire is clearly in decline, with multiple crises festering in the political, strategic, economic and cultural areas, to name a few. The Washington-centred cliques therefore seek to reverse this decline and re-establish American supremacy via war in multiple regions of the world and domains: informational, economic, political, military, digital, and kinetic. The war on Russia, therefore is not just an "existential war" for Russia. It is also an existential war for the US empire. This makes it a war to the limit, "a outrance", that could last for years, if not longer. In that sense, it is not just a matter of enriching a few well-placed corporations and individuals in the MIC driving policy in London, Washington, Paris, etc. The Ukraine war, as also suggested by other observers, is a "civilizational war", a clash of values and paradigms, with Washington representing a suffocating and obsolete system attached to a unipolar, decomposing inegalitarian capitalism (aka "neoliberalism"), and Russia-China and their allies gradually marching to a far more socialist-multilateralist vision grounded in national sovereignty, peaceful cooperation, and win-win economic interactions. So yes, from Washington's viewpoint, it is about big money for the usual criminal cliques, but it is also, equally important, about raw power preservation and the survival of their obnoxious and highly exploitative neoliberal order. —PG

The west’s narrative around the Ukraine-Russia conflict is that NATO is merely interested in helping plucky, democratic Ukraine fend off an attack from Russia and its war criminal president, Vladimir Putin. But peek behind the facade and it becomes apparent that the real reason for the war is much simpler: money. And now the United States has inked a deal to sell liquified natural gas to the European Union to replace a substantial amount of the natural gas previously provided by Russia. Jimmy and journalist Caleb Maupin discuss the financial incentives that are more likely driving NATO’s stance in Ukraine than any possible moral considerations.
