As a child, one of the cheaper foods was fish, fresh wild caught salmon, halibut, cod, etc. These have almost completely been fished out, and what’s left is luxury cost. I am not convinced that a population 3 to 4 times what it is now can be sustained, even if the energy is there in the form of fusion or whatever new technologies exist. I don’t hear “living in harmony with nature” part of Matt’s discussion. It’s just, ‘the more of us humans the better,” even as habitat destruction is wiping out hundreds of species.
