Actually listening to what leaders like Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin say would be useful if the West really cared. Instead they make up stories to fit in with their already formed prejudices and assume that the “autocrtic leaders” are also liars as the western leaders are.
Rosemerry, they can avoid facing reality only so far…eventually reality will force them to re-evaluate their posture (if not what they continue to think inside their rotten treacherous minds).
China is state capitalist. Even Thatcher recognised this: ‘There is only one economic system in the world, and that is capitalism. The difference lies in whether the capital is in the hands of the State or whether the greater part of it is in the hands of people outside of State control,’ ( House of Commons speech, 24 November, 1976). Capitalist hallmarks, such as class society, commodity production, profit motive, exploitation of wage labour, markets, etc., exist there as they do worldwide.
