Garland denounces the cynical fraud represented by the "uniparty" (or "duopoly"), with neither wing of it being genuinely interested in working for peace —actually the opposite is true—or the abandonment of imperialism/exceptionalism. Garland is clear about his rejection of candidates in either party, including Trump, who bills himself as an "outsider", although his way of governing is opportunistic and centered on favoring the interests of the billionaire class. While trumpeting his hatred for "the swamp", Trump wasted no time in cramming his administration with fetid creatures and rabid Neocons, including Mike Pompeo and John Bolton. He is certainly not to be trusted in that important regard. Trump, notes Garland, may not be so eager to deepen the conflict with Russia or China, but he may still act like a typical imperialist in other regions, such as Latin America. The discussion also covers the potential for pushback against the Biden machine by Democratic Party challengers, especially Robert Kennedy Jr, and other candidates representing genuine antiwar constituencies, like Tulsi Gabbard. Any way we look at it, says Garland, the Deep State has a big problem in the 2024 election. Given their criminality, they now need to go all out to win that election.
