As this post proves, men are capable of incredible feats of courage and vision. So why aren't they able to transcend capitalism?

Humans like to test themselves, challenge their limits and demonstrate what is possible. Throughout history, seemingly impossible milestones have been achieved and are now part of our daily lives.
One of Jules Verne's most cherished dreams, as published in his 1864 novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth," was to go deep into the interior of the globe.
Although the Veryovkina Cave will not take us to such a depth, it is the known depression that allows us to get closest to the center of the planet.
It is located in the pass between the Krepost and Zont mountains in the region of Abkhazia, a self-declared independent state that is officially considered part of Georgia by most UN states.
In 1968 the cave was discovered by speleologists from the city of Krasnoyarsk, who were able to reach a depth of 115 meters.
Already in 1986 a new group coming from Moscow and led by Oleg Parfenov, managed to reach the considerable depth of 440 meters.
Since 2015, a series of new raids by the Perovo-Speleo group determined that the cave was deeper reaching new and better marks repeatedly until reaching the record of 2 212 meters in March 2018.

Notes (Wikipedia)
- August 2019 – the final cave length, 2,212 meters (7,257 ft), was surveyed by members of the speleoclub "Perovo".[11]
- August 2021 – "Perovo" expedition found a body of a caver at −1,100 metres (−3,600 ft). He was later identified as Sergei Kozeev, who left his home in Sochi (Russia) on 1 November 2020 and began descent into Veryovkina, where he spent around a week at a −600 metres (−2,000 ft) permanent camp. Then he continued his descent down to technically challenging parts at −1,100 metres (−3,600 ft) where he got stuck due to inadequate equipment and skill, and died of hypothermia.[12] The body was eventually recovered after a complex retrieval operation on 17 August 2021.[13]

It's awesome!!! Appreciate this post . However, this is the deepest "natural" depression, but there are man-made drill holes significantly deeper. The Mponeng gold mine, (Johannesburg) goes to the incredible depth of 3,900m. And there are others similar, but nothing like the "Kola Pit", which reaches the mind-boggling depth of 12,262m. It took 19 years to reach that depth, overcoming enormous difficulties and technical challenges. Only Soviet perseverance could be capable of that (it must also be said that it is only 22cm in diameter). The US made one of 9,583m, before giving up (Bertha Rogers Well).
Best regards!

It must be great. But the closest to the earth's core will be the Mariana Trench, with - 11km elevation, that is, 11kms deep right?

Incredible... And it's natural...

Imposing place, but poorly addressed by the side of the depth with respect to the center of the earth, I would prefer not to mention the center of the earth because it is another magnitude (kilometers).
