Even in the minds of ‘good USA Leftists’, defense against Nazi thugs who shelled their fellow citizens for 8 years is unjustified. Maybe if Greenwald’s house and neighborhood is shelled, he’ll ask Russia for help. To their credit, Ray McGovern and Norman Finkelstein have the courage to explain why Russia had the choice of allowing a mass slaughter, which had been preceded by massive shelling, or intervening. It’s ok for the US to invoke ‘Responsibility to protect’ under a false pretext. But it’s not ok for Russia to do that in the face of an all to real threat?
