Garland and Dr Monteiro discuss the calamity that is America today as a result of its fanatically defended runaway capitalist regime and its consequent raging imperialism abroad that now threatens the life of everyone —human and non-human— on earth. Many thought the Democrats would be a disgrace in 2016 under Hillary Clinton and her announced hawkish policies and they have been proven right, as the Democrats, after years of doing nothing but hiding and vilifying Trump, certainly not a saviour either but, ironically, perhaps less reckless in foreign policy than the Blues, have now shown the true face of utter corruption and criminality of the so-called lesser evil. A simple look at the squalor of many American cities is enough to show the extent of the crisis gripping this nation. Capitalism is not the cure, Garland and Dr Monteiro affirm, but the disease.
