A very courageous speech given five years ago. What Gideon Levy misses is considering human nature. For twenty centuries Jews felt hunted in most of Europe, and if their prosecution made them fearful and paranoid, who could factually blame them. The feeling of being besieged is palpable in Israel and it reacts violently against the resistance of the indigenous Arab population.
