Exposing the imperialist nature of both the Democratic and Republican parties. During today's episode, we play clips from a recent hearing of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The hearing had the stated purpose of examining "democracy" in Latin America and the Caribbean and the role of the United States. We highlight how representatives of both the Democratic and Republican parties push for policies that bolster U.S. imperialism. We also talk about the successes of socialism in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today's guest is Chris Durán, a student and community organizer working with Free 'em All New Jersey. He also works with several other campaigns to free U.S.-held political prisoners and prisoners of war. Chris is a first year graduate student at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University. Unmasking Imperialism exposes imperialist propaganda in mainstream media.
