As I have stated in previous posts, hereherehere and here, South American nations have been in a continuous contest between the landed oligarchs, financiers and foreign capitalists on one side and the modernizing nationalist bourgeoisie on the other since their independence from Spain and Portugal; and the former keep winning. There have been periods of success for the latter, as with the Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI) model of the post-WW2 period, but every time these have been crushed by the latter and the nations plundered and de-industrialized back to the status of agricultural product and natural resource exporters dominated by foreign interests.

The exasperated population has now picked the carefully created image of Milei, an international financier and oligarchic tool made to look like an “outsider”. The Argentinian population will rue the day they elected this ruling class shill.

as with BRICS Plus; that will continue to be the role of EurAsia and BRINCISSTAN. The future of Argentina will be “back to the future” in a steroid-exacerbated form, with the best forecast being this documentary of the Menem years and Argentina’s sad history:

EDITOR'S NOTE
BELOW: Milei has bamboozled the masses, and perfected an "outsider" image, using a fake "anti-politician" style, freely hurling insults at his ideological opponents and cursing every established institution in the land. This theater has made people forget that Milei is not just a pernicious libertarian, he's also a visceral enemy of "the left"—that is anyone not enamoured of free market capitalism. In that sense he resembles Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet far more than Donald Trump. Milei is essentially a fascist. In this context of ultra-right charlatans, it's useful to keep in mind that, as we observe in many countries in the Global South still controlled by the Empire, Argentina has no real left, only demagogic center rightists masquerading as such.
