With its often insufferably priggish, self-satisfied tone, CBS Sunday is clearly designed as a tool to comfort and please the PMCs in the US and the "Western world", the folks who, aside from the billionaires who really run and own the show, clearly benefit from the criminally hypocritical status quo.
For those ensconced under a rock, the "PMCs" are the professional-managerial class, the upper middle class folks operating the vital machinery of the US global empire, most particularly the MICIMATT, Ray McGovern's apt term for the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence- Media-Academia-Think-Tank complex, doubtless the most evil aggregation of humans in modern history.
The plug offered this morning to elevate genocidist Biden, once again, to eminent statehood, a preposterous proposition by any rational measure, reminds us of the epic cringe tongue-bath executed a few years back by sell-out Stephen Colbert upon his audience with Barack Obama, yes, He Who Walketh on Water. "Let me breathe you in," was one of the typically repugnant adulations this courtier threw at the exalted personage. So this vile exhibition has precedent, in fact a multitude of precedents, for the role of Big Media has long been to keep us confused, divided, asleep, and above all massively ignorant, until the whole rotten outfit sinks beneath the waves or becomes nuclear ash, to the perdition of countless innocents who put their trust in American democracy.

In US politics it seems, it is always the foreign element that is the most scheming, like for example Kissinger and Brzezinski. In present times it seems that it is Obama who lived his young life abroad.
Biden is prepared for an abdication, so that Harris can legally and smoothly slide into his job, probably in September. That way a difficult struggle with Trump over votes will be avoided. The ‘debate’ also is scheduled at such a date that Biden’s abdication will precede it, so that Harris cannot be exposed as a lesser debater. And her appointment as a candidate for the US presidency is assured with the popular rallies, which do not promise anything. The odd thing one could say is that the US working classes are perfectly aware what is being done to them, the influx of unskilled workers as “illegal immigrants”, the high inflationary energy prices to reduce living standards so that the US can be more competitive and the imposed cost of wars even though it gives work to labor in the highly profitable war industry. Wolff sees the anger but not that Trump is a last attempt to hold the center together. The desperately joyful crowd around Kamala will turn to violence in time.
As I started these comments, I listened to Ms Harris tell her economic plans this afternoon. What is obvious is that she wants State Capitalism which is of course a no go for the Trumpites. That is the present basic political schism within the US. The neoliberal foundation remains in place with its war objectives. As usual No Exit from the present, even with student protests about Gaza, which with inverted honesty are called by a despised name.
