NOTE: As Dmitri Orlov opines in his interview with Nima Alkhorshid (Dialogue Works) the latest NATO provocation, billed as the most reckless escalation yet may not be so, since NATO has been implementing deep strikes into Russia for some time now (which Moscow classifies as terrorists acts). The response by Putin may not be military, but economic and financial, says Orlov, as Russia retains the capacity (with China) to cripple Western production of a large number of indispensable items, from electric power generation to strategic weapons and even diesel fuel for the trucking and aviation industry. All the preceding signifies that, thanks to Russia's statesmanship and resources, we may escape a nuclear conflict as Moscow responds asymmetrically to NATO's escalations.
