This is why the world is going to shit.
My mailbox presents me this morning with an “invitation” by Twitter, to become a follower of these celebrities:
Kanye West—followed by 27 million
LeBron James—followed by 34 million
Hillary Clinton— followed by 13 million
The idea that some people—anyone—should “follow” these people in admiration…is an insult to intelligence, or to rational priorities at a moment of global crisis. Yet here we are. Just observe the massive, ridiculous numbers these people command. And who are they?
One is an uber rich sports figure, the other a self-impressed, idolized pop music celebrity, of which the world already has far too many, both super-egotists who do absolutely nothing to help the disgraceful state of the world, acting, unwittingly, like escapist soma for the masses.
As for Hillary? Well, anyone with half a discerning mind knows we’re talking here of a cynical crook, active life destroyer, and certifiable war criminal. So whence this tremendous admiration, while a lot of worthwhile people remain invisible to the masses and their truths ignored?
By the way, this is not so much Twitter’s fault, despite its eagerly serving as a loyal mirror for the utterly deformed state of consciousness among so many, but the work of the mainstream media, the whore politicians, and the army of other disinformation agents constantly creating and distributing lies and erroneous interpretations of reality. The vermin on which capitalism depends for its survival.
