EDITOR’S NOTE: No material by this author or any other author published on this site should be read as a defense of Donald trump and his policies. For us Trump, the GOP and the Democrats are all part of the same malignant threat to world peace, democracy, truth, elementary decency and honesty in government affairs afflicting the US and the rest of the world.
“The agenda of the talks in the Palace of Versailles cover(ed) a wide range of issues: from the intensification of Russian-French political, economic and cultural cooperation to the discussion of the situation in Ukraine, Syria and Libya and on the Korean peninsula.” RT described their meeting as “difficult (and) frank.” The agenda of both countries are world’s apart. Russia is proudly independent, beholden to its people, not a foreign imperial power. France abdicated its sovereignty – geopolitically to Washington, its economic, monetary, and fiscal policies to Berlin, Brussels and Wall Street.
I’m surprised by (and disagree with) the description of Putin. I guess we could spin his justifications for Russia’s current role in Afghanistan, or we could consider it a choice by Russia to retaliate over the previous defeat in Afghanistan. As much as I acknowledge Putin’s skills as a political leader, he is not a “peace champion.” Perceptions can be skewed by our own media, of course, but I have seen nothing that justifies the flowery opening of this article. When I reached the “Rothschild ” (keyword designating a vast conspiracy) nonsense, the article itself lost legitimacy.
