The Best Definition of Donald Trump We Have Found
In his zeal to prove to his antagonists in the War Party that he is as bloodthirsty as their champion, Hillary Clinton, and more manly than Barack Obama, Trump seems to have gone “play-crazy” — acting like an unpredictable maniac in order to terrorize the Russians into forcing some kind of dramatic concessions from their Syrian allies, or risk Armageddon. However, the “play-crazy” gambit can only work when the leader is, in real life, a disciplined and intelligent actor, who knows precisely what actual boundaries must not be crossed. That ain’t Donald Trump — a pitifully shallow and ill-disciplined man, emotionally handicapped by obscene privilege and cognitively crippled by white American chauvinism. By pushing Trump into a corner and demanding that he display his most bellicose self, or be ceaselessly mocked as a “puppet” and minion of Russia, a lesser power, the War Party and its media and clandestine services have created a perfect storm of mayhem that may consume us all.— Glen Ford, Editor in Chief, Black Agenda Report
Sorry, Mr. Farruggio, but my crystal ball shows a different picture than yours does. Capitalism is like cancer — it is not satisfied with just part of your body. Money is influence, and so the only way to end rule by the wealthy class is to not HAVE a wealthy class — and that will require ending capitalism. If your mixed socialism-capitalism ever arose, the capitalists would quickly work to unravel it, just as they are now working hard to unravel FDR’s New Deal. But I think they will never permit that mixed socialism-capitalism to arise in the first place.… Read more »
well, sadly we will NEVER have a totally socialist society here in Amerika. sadly. to me, the Democratic Socialist option is a complete sellout to what we could have, what with the total ‘ dumbed down’ populace we now have. thus, my idea is one which may be a bit easier to soak into the minds of that ‘ dumbed down’ populace, by allowing them to think that there will still be some sort of capitalism, as they have been brainwashed to think it works better. yes, the empire will NEVER stand for what I advocate. yet, we can make… Read more »
I think the author’s approach has merit, despite the fact that I also agree with Eric that capitalism at any stage is a highly dangerous cancer that in relatively short time infiltrates all healthy tissues and eventually takes command of the body. The Farruggio equation is therefore essentially another option in the socialist set of possibilities, all clearly understood by real revolutionists as being ramps—transitions— toward the real thing, a form of communism with the working class in firm control of the economy, defense, media, and similar “summits”. I also see why he would advance such a plan, as the… Read more »

Very nice article Phil. The ridiculousness of the military budget today–with its new aircraft carrier when the USA already has more carriers than all other nations combined– is an outrage. I also agree on the unfairness of the tax code. Which has actually gotten worse since Reagan. Recall, when Clinton left office, there was a budget surplus. After the GOP stole the 2000 election in Florida, that disappeared in record time under W.
These should all be solid nails in the democrat party plank, holy cow how the electorate would come alive and rally behind it. which just demonstrates the absurd degree to which the democrats do not represent the democratic will of the vast majority of the US public and especially it’s own base.
