Keep in mind: This is the system that both Trump and Obama are sworn to defend.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he disorganisation and often frustrating passivity of the American public, whatever explanation we may wish to throw at it, takes a toll on the population every single day in myriad ways. Whether attacking the environment, plotting insane wars, or with the politicians betraying the public in countless ways, capitalism shows its true ugly, sociopathic nature in every field of social and personal experience in the US. And most people just shrug it off. They have become inured to this level of systemic impudence.Access to healthcare in America, a corrupt and utterly monetised arrangement that is a global scandal even among capitalist nations, is in actuality in many cases a form of extortion. Countless Americans have been ripped off by the medical, drug and insurance extablishments. So how do we explain this general passivity in the face of a system that is clearly out to get you in every conceivable way—and often with complete impunity? Much of this stems, of course, from the indoctrination received by most Americans about the "American Way" (aka Capitalism) being superior to any other and not amenable to replacement by what is presumed to be iffy, inefficient or outright tyrannical alternatives. This leaves us with the charlatan's nostrums, like Obamacare, where only minor superficial tweaks are allowed, and its innumerable flaws need equally innumerable patches to keep it working—mediocrely and inadequately at that. (Despite Obamacare's inevitable complexity evidenced by its more than 20,000 pages of labyrinthine language that even doctors and lawyers are hard put to understand. By comparison, the Cuban equivalent, guaranteeing every citizen complete and immediate access to all medical services, drugs, and therapies available in the nation, takes up less than a single page.)
But we know why this illogical and cruel system remains in place. The notion that our sacred "free enterprise" should be allowed into any field of human interaction, putting profit as the main criterion of a system that regulates matters of life and death, is central to the US "exceptionalist" brainwash that operates to steer the American mind from cradle to grave.
A few days back, WPIX, a NYC local station, not exactly a socialist medium (actually quite the opposite), aired an example of medicine a la Americaine which requires little comment. Watch and draw your own conclusions. As Reader's Digest used to say, "only in America." How much more are we supposed to take? When is it gonna be time for the pitchforks? Those are the pertinent questions.
And here's the solution:
