Pinocchio Romney: Actually no better or worse than the rest of the prostitutes running for office on the GOP side, and no worse than the incumbents in Washington right now.
.
The CBS Sunday Morning show on 3.25.12 surprised the hell out of me by including among its segments a report on the scandalous disparity between what the GOP prez candidates—Romney, Gingrich, Santorum—are saying about Europe, “socialism”, and the truth.
What got into CBS, a network that has in fact been sliding ever more pronouncedly to the right for the last decade? The segment came almost as a shock because (as demonstrated here) the corporate media turds know how to present the truth, it’s just, well, they rarely do it. If they had consistently applied these rules, the nation and the world would not be in the terminal mess they are. Considering how miraculous this is, it almost makes me book a ticket to Lourdes. —Patrice Greanville

It is important not to confuse “standard of living” (e.g. indoor bathrooms, fast roads) with “quality of life” (e.g. fresh farm food, clean air, social coherence). My late father was 11 years old when the first motor car arrived in his village (~1920). He went on to become a radar and rocketry engineer. His view of it was that as the “standard of living” has gone up so the “quality of life” has gone down.
