The Young Turks finally implodes after years of imperialist lies & smears. Defaming Jimmy Dore and Aaron Maté may have been the last straw.

Years of faux-progressive journalism and shady dealings are finally catching up with Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian at the TYT corral, and, frankly, folks, the hurricane of self-inflicted caca could not come too soon. Apparently, it was not enough for TYT to become indistinguishable in practice from MSNBC and CNN, or the WaPo and NYTimes, all execrable examples of legacy media's utter subservience to the imperialist oligarchy. No, dishing out for years the fetid Russiagate and Trump derangement syndrome narratives with the tedious zeal of a Rachel Maddow was not enough, it was getting stale in the new age of Biden, so they had to do one better, they needed a new angle, a new mission. Spreading lies about Syria to please the empire didn't suffice either, so who knows, maybe they thought that the crisis brought about by their own treacheries and aimlessness, already hemorrhaging viewers in droves, could be fixed by simply serving as sicarios for the hegemonist establishment that actually owns them.  Unfortunately, in picking this kerfuffle, neither Cenk nor Ana realised that attempting to haughtily demolish, basically on their say-so, the well-deserved popularity and reputation of Jimmy Dore and The Grayzone team, people who do important and dependable journalism, and who clearly enjoy the love and loyalty of respectable audiences (audiences that continue to expand, despite big tech's algorithmic sabotage), was going to prove not only difficult but well nigh impossible. Worse than that, the barrage of McCarthyite smears and not-so-veiled threats unleashed by Cenk and Ana have only succeeded in pissing Jimmy and the Grayzone folks big time, and now, well-armed with easily demonstrable facts, they're punching back, and scoring points all over the place. What's more, as in boxing bouts where the contenders are clearly poorly matched, the spectacle is starting to look painful. My guess for this horrendous miscalculation is that Cenk and Ana probably thought their large [theoretical] audience and ample resources would let them simply swat Jimmy and the Grayzone team off the stage like pestiferous mosquitos while getting a grateful pat on the head from their true masters, who certainly would like to see these irreverent people off the radar. Narrative control, folks, is after all what the oligarchy requires for its legitimacy. Opinion control 24/7 is the corporate system's political oxygen. So you can't have gifted and dedicated malcontents spoiling the party, can you?—PG
