Tucker Carlson & other rightwingers are now drawing the line against the DHS push to criminalise thought

While the fake left applauds and cheers the establishment of a truly Orwellian DHS department to police thought crimes, it is rightwingers like Tucker Carlson and even the despicable jingo-exceptionalist Sean Hannity, or, hard to believe, Ron DeSantis, who step forth to defend the First Amendment. The real left of course still has some notable voices—Jimmy Dore, Max Blumenthal, Caleb Maupin, Caitlin Johnstone, Fiorella Isabel, Margaret Kimberley, Danny Haiphong, Jeff J. Brown, Paul Edwards, Finian Cunningham, Jay Janson, Ed Curtin—to name a few in that distinguished and brave handful— but they lack the heavy-duty megaphones the enemies of humanity enjoy. I've said it many times and it bears repeating here: The deliberate confusion of pseudo leftists (liberals, who are in reality centrists and even outright rightists, as most Democratic party politicians prove) with real leftists is a wound to the real left, not to the phonies. These contemptible frauds (with support from the right, who, out of cynicism or sheer ignorance, or both, keeps calling liberals "Marxists" and "commies", including in that label even shameless corporate imperialists like Barack Obama) have killed "the left brand", and it will take a lot of work to re-establish its credibility and honor. —PG
