An interesting monologue by Jackman about the US left. The problem is that the Left has no police department, nor an army at its side and thus is at the mercy of the upper classes, ruling neo-liberals included. What threw the switch in the Russian evolution was the army going over to the revolutionaries. Since everything in human life depends on power, any struggle must seek power through physical support, otherwise it remains feeble by idealism directed resistance. A sheer mass of protesting people as seen with the student protests for Gaza, is simply not enough.
