With Election 2024 upon us, that is the central question that preoccupies Garland and his distinguished guest, Joti Brar, prominent leader and activist of the Communist Party of Great Britain. (M-L). The short answer is "no", says Joti. You can't possibly escape imperialism through the ballot box. She then proceeds to demolish the carefully cultivated myth that bourgeois democracy and periodic elections can possibly improve the lot of the working class, or eventually hand over power to the actual producers instead of the (ever-fewer) billionaires.

What’s there left to say ? The smart and beautiful (no joking here!) Ms. Brar says it all, nothing left to say! OK. I say they are both (Mr. Nixon too) heartless, and they are not even the exception! When have they (or anybody else, believe it or not!) ever pondered the sheer terror the owners must live under ?
