“Putin a bully and a thug.”
[I]n this clip, again by CBS (just a convenience, all networks are guilty of the same kind of information atrocity), the good journalists of CBS This Morning discuss with Gen. James Jones (Ret.) Putin’s character and supposed ill will toward the [innocent] West.
A remarkable thing about the segment is not so much the sheer enthusiasm with which the trio discharge their propaganda tasks, but the fact that the general is quite precise and lucid in listing all the crimes, lies and betrayals by the US that constitute Putin’s “bill of grievances” against the US, but none of that sticks, the tone and direction of the conversation is to defame and indict Putin for some sordid and sinister character flaw, and that will be done. Facts and fairness be damned.
And by the way, except for the terrific chauvinist brainwash they are brought up with, why do most Americans take for granted that their nation “has to lead the world”?
Ironically, it is the old establishmentarian, Gen. Jones, who emerges with more honor and dignity from this shameful encounter than his unctuous hosts.
