MOA—The demonstrations are similar to those staged in 2011-2013. Green-white-black French-colonial Syria flags and a few Turkish ones get waved -all new it seems- and a few dozens men and young boys, no women or girls in sight, chant some slogans. No black and white HTS/al-Qaeda flags visible and no weapons are in sight. The video shots are tightly controlled and concentrate on the civilian clothed men and children. Where a wider frame is shown one can see fighters in camouflage at the edge of the crowds. The intended message of these stunts: “Do you see us? There are only peaceful civilians in Idelb. No fighters are here. We are not terrorist. We only want freedom!”

MOA—The Foreign Policy piece is based on a Human Rights Watch (pdf) report which again is based on interviews with 56 expatriates from the Xinjiang area of China. These people make claims of reasons for which they believe they themselves, or people they claim to know, were put through ideological training sessions. The FP author list all 48 of these reasons, claimed by notoriously unreliable expats, even when many of them do not make any sense.

If Democrat Adam Schiff was ever a decent guy, all traces are now gone. These days—since Trump’s election—this guy has spent all his time scaremongering about Russia and pushing the US to ever worsening relations with a nuclear superpower. It’s quite obvious the man is a transparent slimy hypocrite, with less morality in him than the average Washington politico, which is a pretty low bar indeed. For there’s nothing more repugnant and criminal than to push for war for personal gain. The role played by the Democrats since the election of Trump confirms that the US political system is terminally rotten, and that the duopoly and its enabling corporate media, must be defeated and destroyed before humanity can move forward to a higher plateau. In this episode, Jimmy Dore comments on the Schiff/Carlson interaction.

ERIC ZUESSE—Putin, Erdogan, and Rouhani, met in Tehran on September 7th to discuss the threat by Trump (from condemnation backed not only by Trump’s allies but by the ‘humanitarian’ agencies of the U.N.), the Trump Administration’s threat to go to war against Russia for ‘humanitarian’ reasons if Russia assists Assad’s effort to exterminate the jihadists in Idlib. Russia didn’t want World War III, and so this meeting in Tehran occurred. TIME magazine headlined on September 7th, “Presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran Meet to Plot Future of Syria Ahead of Battle for Last Rebel Stronghold” and reported that “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for a cease-fire and an end to airstrikes in the northwestern province of Idlib, something that wasn’t immediately accepted by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.”

Oliver Stone has had the privilege of intervewing Vladimir Putin at length, in his own quarters, and without a lot of the “chief of state” paraphernalia usually seen in the case of Western political leaders. Here he shares his views about American Russophobia and the hostile reception his efforts receoved among the US media.
