The Best Definition of Donald Trump We Have Found

In his zeal to prove to his antagonists in the War Party that he is as bloodthirsty as their champion, Hillary Clinton, and more manly than Barack Obama, Trump seems to have gone “play-crazy” — acting like an unpredictable maniac in order to terrorize the Russians into forcing some kind of dramatic concessions from their Syrian allies, or risk Armageddon. However, the “play-crazy” gambit can only work when the leader is, in real life, a disciplined and intelligent actor, who knows precisely what actual boundaries must not be crossed. That ain’t Donald Trump — a pitifully shallow and ill-disciplined man, emotionally handicapped by obscene privilege and cognitively crippled by white American chauvinism. By pushing Trump into a corner and demanding that he display his most bellicose self, or be ceaselessly mocked as a “puppet” and minion of Russia, a lesser power, the War Party and its media and clandestine services have created a perfect storm of mayhem that may consume us all. The Pentagon’s Useful Idiots

Military spending (official), in 2011. The proportions are telling, not to mention the criminal uses. The situation is even more absurd today. And the US also has a huge secret military budget.

1). Since existing bombs are so destructive that using them is unimaginable, their deterrent role is undermined; so the report suggests it might be better to develop low-yield nuclear arms as part of a greater range of strategic threats. A range that would also include non-nuclear options: ‘chemical, biological, cyber, and large-scale conventional aggression.’

In 2016 candidate Trump, lacking the most basic understanding of nuclear deterrence, is said to have asked an adviser: ‘If we have them why can’t we use them? (2)’ The Pentagon report is a response of sorts: that the US, faced with what it claims are the geopolitical ambitions of Russia and China, and Moscow’s ‘willingness to use force to alter the map of Europe and impose its will upon its neighbours,’ must update its nuclear arsenal as soon as possible to ‘remain faithful sentinels of our nation’s security and freedom.’

You can’t put a price on such democratic self-sacrifice. Or perhaps you can: tripling the US military’s nuclear budget.

There might have been more opposition in the US to such geopolitical alarmism in pursuit of a new arms race if what passes for the American left had not spent the past year doing all it could to present Donald Trump as Moscow’s stooge (3).

Like a putrid abscess, shameless warmonger Rachel Maddow thrives in the current climate fostered by the interests of the super-rich elites behind the military-industrial complex, who naturally also own the mass media.

This has forced him to supply arms to Ukraine (which President Obama refused to do) and toughen sanctions against Russia. Former vice-president Joe Biden’s stance is clear from the title of his recent article: ‘How to Stand up to the Kremlin: Defending Democracy against its Enemies’ (4).

In the same vein, Democrats on the Senate foreign relations committee have published a report analysing ‘Putin’s asymmetric assault on democracy in Russia and Europe’.

Rachel Maddow, who leads the anti-Trump ‘resistance’ on MSNBC, reported it immediately, with glee: ‘Not only is our president not leading us to do the kinds of things other countries have been trying to do to put out the fire, in some ways our government under this president has been pouring on gasoline and helping this thing burn.’

She can sleep easy now: the Pentagon is on her side.

Trump’s Durable Base: Eight Reasons

HELP ENLIGHTEN YOUR FELLOWS. BE SURE TO PASS THIS ON. SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON IT.

Donald Trump’s many critics like to note that he has been struggling with epically low approval ratings – in the middle and high 30s for the most part –  across most of his presidency.  That is hardly surprising, given Boss Tweet’s relentlessly un-presidential behavior, which helps make a laughingstock out of the United States.

The Insane Clown President’s idiotic and offensive conduct has been so bad that one must wonder how he has managed to retain a durable base of support amongst the 33-39% who regularly tell pollsters that they approve of his job performance. The unshakeable durability of the Trump base seems like evidence in support of candidate Trump’s infamous statement that he could go out onto Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and still not lose any of his core supporters.

What’s the resilience and robustness of Trump’s base all about? It reflects a combination of at least eight overlapping and interrelated, mutually reinforcing factors.  One is that Trump’s virulent white nationalism resonates with a significant part of the white populace. The Caucasian “heartland” has for many decades been hearing that Black welfare cheats, job-stealing Latino immigrants, and criminal Black and Latino gangbangers have been sucking the nation dry and demoralizing its values and purity with the help of fancy and pampered big city and bi-coastal middle- and upper-class liberals and leftists. It’s nothing new, really. Nativism, racism, and suspicion of posh city folk have rich roots in U.S. and indeed Western history, going back to the birth of the republic and before. They are as White-American as the Know Nothing Party, Lawrence Welk, Rush Limbaugh. apple pie, and gun violence. Russia has nothing to do with it, by the way.

A second factor is that a significant part of the white electorate is every bit as ignorant, stupid, unreflective, selfish, vile, and anti-intellectual as the president.  The relentless stupefying power of the American mass media has combined with the under-funding and dumbing down of public education and brain-wrecking fast-food diets to spawn millions of brutish white U.S.-American dolts who revel in the existence of a POTUS who is as thoughtless, oblivious, ill-informed, uncurious, cruel, and tactless as them. Trump’s presidency shows that you can be an abject moral and intellectual idiot and still succeed.

(Trump reminds me of all the vicious white business and marketing majors whose horrific undergraduate history examinations I used to grade at Northern Illinois University back in the 1990s. They were outraged at the notion that they might have to read a book from beginning to end.  It was a miracle when one or two of them could be persuaded to pay any attention to the experiences of Black slaves tortured in the antebellum South or Indochinese peasants bombed by the U.S. military in the 1960s.   These are the people who fill the seats at the proto-fascistic Jerry Springer show, chanting “Jerry, Jerry” while desperately poor people of color are pitted against each other onstage. Trump, like Jerry Springer, validates their racism, their pride in ignorance and stupidity, and their faith in their own superiority to the disproportionately Black and brown poor.)

Proud to be a moron—not an oxymoron.

Third, Trump symbolizes and expresses many Americans’ often understandable disgust with and disrespect for the professional-class and its meritocratic ideology. So what if Trump is a filthy rich billionaire who was born into a wealthy family and grew up to become a draft-dodging playboy who ruthlessly cheated his workers, customers, and wives – and who mocks his own children in savage terms?  Hey, at least he’s not one of those snotty professional and managerial class know-it-all types who boasts of their multiculturalism, their high-priced natural foods, their vegetarian diets, their hot yoga classes, their advanced mindfulness, their recycling systems, their world travels, their enlightened tolerance, their advanced degrees, and the elite universities their children attend.

Trump is a way for people who hated school to stick it to those nasty, over-educated backstabbing, stuck-up managers, professionals, teachers, and bureaucrats, who regularly lord it over everyday people. Trump hates school, books, professors, intellectuals, scientists, and other boring, candy-ass, know-it-all big shots losers too!  He did it his way and figured out how to make all those fancy fuckers work for him!  Think of the bumper sticker that reads “My Kid Beat Up Your Honor Student!”

Fourth, Fox News, right-wing talk radio, Breitbart and other white and right media outlets have become an inbred right-wing media universe that makes it possible for millions of white Americans to go through life with the political information they receive cordoned off from anything that does not fit the hard-starboard narrative. Negative Trump stories are reflexively dismissed as “fake news” in FOXNewsWorld.  Throw in so-called social media, where people form “friendship” networks and share news items and opinions limited to their own partisan identity and you have the making of a separate informational ecosphere where 2+2=5 and Love is Hate because Big Brothers Trump, Hannity, Bannon, and Limbaugh et al. say so.  (The Democratic and “liberal” wings of the mass media have their own versions of the same thing – don’t get me wrong. You can see this on Russia-obsessed MSNBC/MSDNC, for example).

Fifth, Trump benefits from the underlying, ever-sharpening partisan schism between the Republican and Democratic parties over the last three decades.  The fierce binary polarization of the electorate (which coincides curiously with the related deepening polarization between the entire bipartisan plutocracy on one hand and the needs and values of the broad working-class majority on the other) guaranteed that Republican voters would support Trump, no matter how offensive and idiotic he was, to block the presidential candidate of the hated Democrats. It makes one’s own major party’s candidate or office-holder a no-matter-what preferred alternative to the total evil that is the other capitalist party’s candidates and leaders.  That’s how the noxious evangelical superfreak Roy Moore nearly won election to the U.S. Senate last year.  “Trump went out on Fifth Avenue and shot 20 people?  Well, Hillary would have shot a hundred!  Obama shot more! At least Trump says what he thinks…he’s a straight shooter!”

Just because the increasingly insane and paranoid-style Republicans hate the Democrats on a flatly tribal basis doesn’t mean the neoliberal Democrats aren’t richly deserving of widespread popular hatred.

Sixth, there’s the dismal financial corporatism of the deplorable, dollar-drenched Democrats. “Just because you’re paranoid,” the old saying goes, “doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.” In a similar vein we might say that just because the increasingly insane and paranoid-style Republicans hate the Democrats on a flatly tribal basis doesn’t mean the neoliberal Democrats aren’t richly deserving of widespread popular hatred. The Inauthentic Opposition Party has spent the last three decades aligned with absurdly rich Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and Hollywood executives while pretending to be a party of ordinary and poor people. Under Wall Street presidents like the NAFTA champion Bill Clinton and the Trans-Pacific Partnership advocate and rich guy bailout king Barack Obama, historian Nancy Fraser noted last year, the neoliberal Democrats have joined outwardly progressive forces like feminism, antiracism, multiculturalism, and LGBTQ rights to “financial capitalism,” imparting liberal “charisma” and “gloss” to “policies that have devastated manufacturing and what were once middle-class lives.” While trumpeting outwardly progressive ideals like diversity and empowerment, the Clinton-Obama Democrats “bear…heavy responsibility for the weakening of unions, the decline of real wages, the increasing precarity of work, and the rise of the two-earner family in the place of the defunct family wage.”

They have added salt to the wounds inflicted by their alliance with a globalist investor class that has de-developed the rural and manufacturing heartland.  The neoliberal Democrats, Fraser wrote, “compounded” the “injury of deindustrialization” with “the insult of progressive moralism,” which rips “heartland” whites as culturally retrograde (many are but it is impolitic to say so). Here I would add that metropolitan liberals and leftists have aggravated the gash further by arguing that middle- and working-class whites are privileged by their skin color and – in the case of white middle- and working-class males – their gender. It’s been an ugly message to send to people who have been struggling (their technical whiteness notwithstanding) across the long regressive neoliberal era and the current New Gilded Age with technical displacement, factory closings, globalization, business failures, reduced salaries and benefits, bankruptcies, family farm collapse, opiate addiction, unaffordable health care premiums, declining physical and mental health, unpaid back taxes, chronic pain, and insane levels of college and credit card debt: “Hey, you are privileged, so your declining net worth, income, free-time, health, autonomy, and security really must be your own damn fault.”

With his seductive and deceptive promise to “make [white] America great again” by bringing back long lost American industry and closing the border to allegedly criminal and job-stealing Latino immigrants, Trump has been a way for many in the white ex-industrial Rustbelt and upper Midwestern farm belt to join much of the white South and rural West in giving arrogant, lecturing. Cosmopolitan, and bi-coastal professional-class Democratic Party know-it-all elites and their snooty Wall Street, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley friends a great big raised middle finger.

A seventh factor is the unpleasant lockstep workings of the mental flaw called “cognitive dissonance”. The more time and energy they’ve invested in the preposterous notion of the malignantly narcissistic plutocrat and billionaire Donald Trump as middle-class and working people’s champion (on par with the idea of a great white shark as a hero of small fish and sea mammals), the less likely Trump’s base is to abandon it. The ego pain involved in admitting the stupidity of the idea gets greater with each passing news cycle.

An eighth factor is the currently expanding U.S. economy. When U.S. capitalism is in one of its recurrent cyclical upswings, creating jobs, the sitting U.S. president and his or her party get to take credit for it, as if the economy were run out of the White House.  It isn’t run that way, but so what?  Trump is enjoying a lucky sweet spot in the timeworn dance between the capitalist business cycle and the U.S. election cycle. And that helps the Trump base continue to avoid the painful cognitive dissonance involved in acknowledging that the “populist” Trump is a capitalist ruling-class slime-ball who could give a flying fuck whether ordinary people live or die.

Will the Trump base’s loyalty to the orange-tinted beast break when the widening and wild chasm between stock prices and real values brings its standard “market correction” and filthy rich parasites like Trump and his billionaire friends stay protected while millions suffer devastating job and asset losses? Hard to say.  Lunatics who believe that space aliens will land on earth on a given day tend to double down on their fantastic beliefs when the projected date arrives and no beings from outer space arrived. Cargo cults are surprisingly durable.

In my next essay, I will move beyond the question of Trump’s durable base to examine how Trump manages to keep his job despite his still epic overall unpopularity and his obvious lack of qualification for any position beyond Village Idiot.  Part of the answer, we shall see, resides in our enduring captivity to the intentionally anti-democratic and wildly anachronistic Constitution the nation’s slave-owning Founders put in place to protect the propertied “elite” from the property-less and property-poor majority at the end of the Eighteenth Century. Another part, I’ll show, has to do with the nation’s reigning capitalist oligarchy – what it gets from Trump and how it cares less and less about happens to and inside the United States anymore.

Liberal Totalitarianism and the Trump Diversion

HELP ENLIGHTEN YOUR FELLOWS. BE SURE TO PASS THIS ON. SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON IT.

The ongoing political circus in the capital of the world’s most powerful empire opens almost daily  with a new act each day showcasing an even more bizarre and more revealing display of the internal rot of a culture and a political system in decline.

The day before Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address, the Russia-gate drama took an unexpected and dangerous turn with the vote by the House Intelligence Committee to release a now classified memo that alleges that senior members of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) may have misled the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA court) in order to secure a warrant to engage in what Republicans assert is a politically motivated effort that spied on the Trump campaign before he won the 2016 election and attempted to undermine his presidency.

Right-wing neoliberal Democrats who have engaged in a vigorous defense of the intelligence agencies of the U.S. state are concerned about the possible fallout with the public. They argue Republicans are deliberately undermining confidence in U.S. institutions by irresponsibly hurling allegations that support a growing public perception that the government and the individuals who populate governmental institutions are inherently corrupt.

Despite the phony news of economic prosperity that came out of Trump’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, the more insightful and “responsible” members of the ruling elite recognize the explosive potential of real opposition to the elite agenda and understand the crisis of confidence in and legitimacy of the system will continue to deepen. The recognition of that has resulted in ruling-class elements being united in one very important area– “domestic national security.”

Republicans now refer to this as “FBI-gate” and Democrats counter by appealing to the dubious belief that the FBI is some kind of neutral political force populated by people of unreproachable character—those who would never engage in the kind of crass partisanship being alleged by Republicans in Congress.

Even members of the Congressional Black Caucus–the one caucus that traditionally has always been wary of the FBI because of its history of abuse against Black activists, including the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.–joined in the effort to prop up this institution and its former director Robert Mueller.

This new narrative of FBI integrity and neutrality is predicated on the assumption that most of the public has forgotten or is unaware of the notorious history of the FBI and its founder, J. Edgar Hoover. Hoover was a racist anti-Semite and fascist sympathizer. He shared his obsessive anti-communism and anti-Semitism with Heinrich Himmler, Hitler’s Gestapo chief, who Hoover corresponded with personally and kept on the FBI’s mailing list right up until the eve of the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939.

As the nation’s political police, the FBI has been at the center of domestic repression and political manipulation for decades. From Hoover’s early career working as special assistant to Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, when Hoover was given the responsibility to plan and execute the infamous “Palmer raids” in which thousands were arrested in twenty-three states for “subversive activities,” to his and the FBI’s role in the first McCarthy period of repression in the 1950s through to the COINTELPRO program against the anti-war, Black Liberation and Civil Rights movement. The intelligence gathering, counter-insurgent role of the FBI has been consistent.

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen the history and role of the FBI is objectively understood as a central component of the repressive state apparatus, it is not farfetched to accept the meaning of the August 2016 message Peter Strzock, the director of the FBI’s counter-intelligence division, sent to Lisa Page, a high-level official with whom he was romantically involved. In that message, it is clear that Strzock thought it prudent to develop a strategy to undermine a Trump presidency, even when the chance of Trump getting elected seem impossible to many.

Strzock is quoted as texting to Page over a secure device:

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way he [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event that you die before you’re 40.”

This quote reveals two things: (1) the thinking of individuals who hold institutional power and are well versed in the exercise of “extra-democratic” institutional power, or what some refer to as the power of the Deep State; and (2) the specific rationale for implementing what appears to have been a classic counter-intelligence project to influence, manipulate and control a political process, in this case the election for the presidency of the United States.

Rabid Neocon Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California, is a poster boy for the reigning liberal corruption and cynical alliance with the Deep State. Reckless warmongering scum does not come much worse than this.

In response to the information coming out about the memo and the explosive allegations of governmental malfeasance, Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking Democratic member of House Intelligence Committee made the laughable statement that the vote to release the memo “politicize(s) intelligence process.” Perhaps Schiff hoped that the public had forgotten all of the instances of politicized intelligence from the manufactured data supporting the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution to the manufactured data about the existence of weapons of mass destruction that justified the disastrous attack on Iraq.

But what Schiff, as well as some Republicans, are concerned with is how the public will process and respond to the existence of a massive, coordinated effort to exercise unelected political power.

They are concerned the extent of the coordination between the state and elements of financial and corporate sectors exposes the hidden reality of how real power is exercised in Washington and the financial center in New York, the power behind the reach of the atrophied mechanisms of democratic accountability and control.

Beyond the Circus: Strengthening the Ideological and Political Mechanisms of Domination

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t’s ironic, or perhaps just a reflection of the power of propaganda, that it is now just becoming apparent that while the attention of the people was mobilized and directed to fictitious external sources of electoral interference by the Russians, the real culprits working to undermine the limited democracy that does exist were always in the United States and in plain sight.

They are the ones who re-authorized extending FISA section 702 that allows the state to collect communications from U.S. citizens and even tap into communications databases of companies like Google to collect information without a warrant. They supported inserting provisions of the “Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act” into the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) as one of Obama’s last legislative acts. They were silent as the government prosecuted whistleblowers under the Espionage Act, which justified expanded National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance and called for the head of former federal contractor-turned-whistleblower Edward Snowden. They think it is a good idea for Facebook to establish “counter speech” controls and for Google to adjust its algorithms to bury alternative news sites and sources of “radical” analysis.

And while Trump has been a useful idiot for the Deep State, it is important to clearly identify the forces driving this process and giving it political legitimacy–liberal Democrats!

The recognition of that has resulted in ruling-class elements being united in one very important area– “domestic national security.” That is to say not the threat of “terror attacks” or other physical threats, but the security that the ruling class is attempting to acquire for itself by strengthening the repressive state apparatus against the people. Using the gift of “Russia-gate” given to it by the Democrats, the state in collaboration with the capitalist communication sector has attempted to tighten its ideological grip on the public by limiting the range of information available to the public.

The neo-liberal right has always understood much better than many elements of the left what Cuba revolutionary Jose Marti meant when he said that “trenches of ideas are more powerful than weapons.”

So, while we are entertained by the theatrics of Trump and shudder with horror after his latest antic, the real forces of totalitarianism are working right under our noses, normalizing the capitalist dictatorship in the name of upholding freedom.

How the CIA Infiltrates Trade Unions

By Olav Boye

Lech Walesa, the West’s Polish poodle, and a major useful idiot, was also in cahoots with the CIA. He remains the face of sellout unionism in the postwar.

The CIA is the infamous, criminal intelligence agency which is the mastermind behind a long series of attacks on legal, elected political leaders and massive interventions to create chaos in countries which are in the United States’ bad books. By creating conflicts with help of paid agents and assassinating political leaders, they have fomented violent regime changes in numerous countries. It has the reputation of being a violent organization in the service of the US political leadership. The list of its criminal activities is long, but, for obvious reasons, no one is ever punished for these crimes.

The CIA is and has always been heavily involved in the area of organized labour. Their aim is to sabotage trade unions and to hinder their the battle against negative globalization and abuses from multinational corporations and global financial institutions. The main labour union in the United States, the AFL-CIO, is the backer of the American Institute for Free Labor Development – AIFLD, an organization which has supported right wing unions and political organizations, especially in Latin-America. Amongst other things, the AFL-CIO cooperated with the CIA and AIFLD to subvert and overthrow Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president in Chile, and his leftwing government.

The AFL-CIO is the backer of international ‘Solidarity Centres’ that exist in 60 countries around the world. My experience with this from Macedonia was an aggressive interpreter who misinterpreted and constantly interrupted my lecture to an assembly from the Cultural Workers Union. My lecture was an orientation on the market liberalism in the European Union and globalization, where my opinion was that this greatly harmed the trade union movement’s struggle for political and professional rights. The interpreter was employed by the Solidarity Centre in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, after her education in Florida. She claimed that people like me were communists and were destroying the labour movement. These claims were debated in the assembly, but the audience demanded a new interpreter. Solidarity Centres buy trust in the labour unions with amongst other things free computers and money grants. Here we can see the infiltration from the AFL-CIO – or the AFL-CIA, as some people [rightly] like to call them.

During Ronald Reagan’s presidency the AFL-CIO was given substantial economic support from NED, the National Endowment for Democracy, one of CIA’s front organizations. In the Third World, they were better known for undermining activist trade unions than for their support of the labour movement’s professional and political struggle.

One example is the support to Lech Walesa’s Solidarity-movement in Poland. Human rights organizations both inside and outside of the US have accused the NED of «interference in other countries’ internal matters». There have also been accusations that entire organizations were created to legally continue the CIA’s support to political actors in countries where the agency was banned from operating, and that it therefore is the «heir» to CIAs covert work.

One fact frequently mentioned is that because the foundation is private, it is possible for it to operate freely where governmental agencies are bound by US laws. According to the Colombian journalist and writer Hernanado Calvo Ospina, this view was confirmed to a large extent by the foundation’s first director, Allen Weinstein, in an interview with the Washington Post in 1991, where he stated that “A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.”

Through my work with the international labour movement, I have on several occasions been approached by people who directly or indirectly tried to recruit me to their negative activities. By this I mean CIA-agents amongst labour leaders in ITUC based in Brussels, and Germans from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), which we know was, and possibly still is, financed by the CIA.

George Soros: one of the world’s most prominent faux philanthropists.

We can also look at the Ola Teigen-affair in the late 1960s, when money from the CIA went to The International Union of Socialist Youth, the international organization that the biggest political youth organization in Norway, The Workers’ Youth  League, belongs to. Of course the money went via the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. It is commonly known that the George Soros’ Open Society Foundation is in the same business, to great harm for all communist and socialist trade unions.

After the so called Carnation Revolution in Portugal in the mid 1970s, when leftwing officers seized power from the fascist government, I was hired by the Worker’s  Educational Association AOF to run seminars in cooperation with Portuguese trade unions. I lived in Portugal for several months, arranging seminars and meetings, and afterwards we jointly selected people for further education at the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions’ own school in Sørmarka. During a seminar in Porto, I noticed that two guys were sitting in the back of the room. They were not participants, and during the break I asked them who they were. They represented the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), and had the same mission as I, to train trade unionist cadres.

When I arrived in Lisbon a few days later, I was contacted by a representative from the Norwegian embassy, who informed me that I had been taken off the mission and was going home. Later I got to know why. During the meeting in Porto, a construction worker had asked me if they should organize a broad trade union movement for all political groups, similar to the Nordic countries, or if they should have an ideological split like in Spain, where socialists, communists and Catholics each had their own trade union. My answer was that a broad union movement is preferable. The guys from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation did not like to hear this, since they were in Portugal to fight communists and radical socialists. It has long been well known that FES was financed by the CIA and that their mission was to make sure the labour movements in Germany and other places in Europe did not get radicalized or would become obstacles to the imperialist policies of the EU and the United States.

Ebert: a front for and active collaborator with the capitalist and feudal classes, like all social democrats since the days of Kautsky and Bernstein.

After the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I, as secretary for the Nordic Graphical Union, was sent to Sarajevo to strengthen the Graphical Trade Union in this war-torn country. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation (named after the social democratic leader who betrayed socialists and communists, crushed the Spartacists and allied himself with the most extreme rightwingers in the Weimar republic period, such as the Freikorps), was of course also active here, to steer the political direction of the Bosnian trade unions. Here it was not a matter of cooperation, but of diktat from FES and the global trade union ITUC. They had an admitted CIA-agent, Rudy Porter, in their headquarters in Brussels, supposedly representing American trade unions. The representative of FES in Sarajevo, who was under Porter, was highly critical of my negative attitude to globalization and the EU’s market liberalism, which I freely discussed with my Bosnian colleagues. He claimed I was dead wrong and wanted me to join his team, to stop communists and socialist from getting any power in the labour movement in the former Yugoslavia. On commission from the graphical unions in the Nordic countries, I continued our positive work to rebuild the Graphical Union Organization in Bosnia.

In December 1999, I received a phone call from the leader of LO, the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions, who asked me if I wanted to accept a mission in Montenegro. It was on behalf of the general secretary of the ITUC, Bill Jordan, an splendid British trade unionist whom I knew previously from my work as secretary general of the Graphical International Union IGF. He wanted me to do some work in cooperation with the trade union in Montenegro. I asked for some time to consider the offer and called an American friend of mine in the ITUC. He went out to a phone booth on the street to call me back and tell me that I would be working under the CIA and the same Rudy Porter who I had met in Sarajevo. He was now responsible for the ITUC’s entire work in the Balkans and still got his payslip from the CIA, according to my colleague. I told the Norwegian trade union leader about this connection, and declined the offer to work with the trade union in Montenegro under such conditions.

CIA and the organizations which collaborate with it organize political criminal operations in a number of countries, including Norway. The trade union movement is an important target for the CIA and their political masters.

Their target is that trade unions won’t fight against multinational corporations, global financial institutions, powerful lobby groups and other opponents of trade unions. There can be no doubt that the CIA works systematically to subvert trade unions and political parties on the left, as more people than me can document. They have to a large degree succeeded – globally, in Europe, as well as in Norway.
