EDITOR—While the establishment media downplays the "collective Biden"s horrific decision to escalate even further the West's war against Russia, millions of people around the globe are well aware that this may indeed push the world closer to WW3, and that the population of the United States better communicate their concern to the Trump administration in unequivocal ways if humanity is to avoid a nuclear cataclysm. It's a complex situation any way we look at it, say the experts. The US ruling elites are currently fractured in their vision for the immediate strategic future. The State Department is far more willing to tempt fate with a nuclear confrontation than the Pentagon, which, surprisingly, is reluctant to risk an all out confrontation with the Eurasian powers.

Garland's wide-ranging conversation with Palestinian journalist Laith Marouf about the latest developments in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran and other key regions in the Resistance, and how Hezbollah's tenacity and good strategic and tactical planning —despite enormous losses in its leadership—have been defeating Israel's big army and its criminal air force. Israel has not been able to penetrate more than a mile into Lebanon, and Netanyahu's promise to return settlers to Northern Palestine dissipates into thin air with each passing day.  Looking at the election, Garland believes that Democrats being voted out of office because of their loyalty to Zionism is not a deterrent for many of these politicians. Their calculus is simple: If they lose because of their support for Israel, they can always count on a cushy job somewhere. If they vote against Israel, they stand to lose plenty. Short of a real revolution, they become "political orphans." Besides, the Dems have long made their pact with the ruling elites, seeing themselves as the natural political platform for the PMC class and its billionaire class sponsors, not to mention their MICIMATT-dominated Deep State. For his part, Trump may be unable or unwilling to deliver on any of his promises. The international sphere is extremely complicated at present, and quick deals are not likely. It's improbable that he would upset the abominable status quo that MAGA people hope for because he is fully embedded in it.

TOPICS: UK/US working class apathy and alienation from the political establishment and taking part in elections, a fact that worries the ruling elites as elections serve to legitimate their rule.  • Trump's MAGA people may represent the last contingent of true believers in the US promise of an actual popular democracy, notes  • Joti describes in detail how WOKISM (identity politics) is nothing but a shameless ruling class tactic to disarm the working class by introducing issues that serve to divide it, while presenting the state (in the hands of one or another wing of the plutocracy) as their saviours.  Insofar as identity politics replaces the actual class struggle, in which economic factors play the preponderant part, it buries the possibilities for revolutionary social change. This is seen in issue after issue. Radical bourgeois feminists, for example, taught women in the 1980s that their "natural" enemy was men, not the ruling elites.  Bourgeois feminism ended up subverting women's power. • Same with the "woke" anti-racist movement. Capitalism, in fact, needs racism; it is one of the ideologies fuelling and justifying colonialism and the ruthless expropriation of people around the globe, often using racist imperial soldiers who come from the exploiting country's working class. Irish people were at one time seen as Europeans later saw Africans, unworthy of equal treatment. These days even the pervasive Russophobia we see in the West is fuelled in part by racism, depicting Russians as "the other", a form of sub-human unworthy of controlling such vast riches. • Joti also points out that the appalling neglect and misleadership we witness in the collective West is not a bug but a feature. We live in the "finance capitalism" phase, she notes, wherein financiers—not the onetime powerful "captains of industry" that created the riches of the West—control society's destiny. These people, however, are not interested in attending to even the minimum requirements of society, only their class's wealth and political interest. That's why we see massive cuts in social welfare, ever fewer well-paying jobs, and no one cares about the rotting infrastructure and shrinkage of the public Commonwealth. Meanwhile, enormous sums are easily procured to pump up every foreign adventure that promises exorbitant riches and at least some relief from the stresses of capitalism's worsening overproduction crisis. • There's no possible security under capitalism, concludes Joti.  Capitalism is a machine to create endless crises and instability—from wars and political turmoil to grave economic insecurity.

Topics: Garland discusses the increasingly toxic relationship between the US empire and its vassals around the globe, disciplining the EU, for example, where Washington blatantly ordered the destruction of the Russo-German Nord Stream 2 pipelines, ordered a detachment and active hostility toward China, and has insured the economic and political subjugation of the continent using local and regional straps (Macron, Schultz, von der Leyen, etc.). Garland stresses that Washington has maintained a firm grip on Western Europe (including its "Eastern European" zones, such as Poland, the Baltics, etc.) despite the apparent surge of leaders and parties seeking political independence and sovereignty.
