PHILIP WEISS—One of the most telling stories about the establishment came and went last November. Two dozen leading law firms sent a letter to the leading law schools, including Harvard and Columbia, saying that they would not hire students from law schools that failed to crack down on antisemitism. And one of those firms, Davis Polk, rescinded job offers to three students who had taken part in pro-Palestinian protests. At about the same time, there were donor revolts by Jewish alumni identifying themselves as such at Ivy schools, threatened the withdrawal of millions in donations, or actually ended such donations because the schools weren’t doing enough to crack down on pro-Palestinian demonstrations.

Mondoweiss— Philip Weiss
Mondoweiss is an independent website that informs readers about developments in Israel/Palestine and related U.S. foreign policy. We provide news and analysis that is unavailable through mainstream media regarding the struggle for Palestinian human rights. Founded in 2006 as a personal blog of journalist Philip Weiss, Mondoweiss grew inside the progressive Jewish community and has become a critical resource for the movement for justice for Palestinians. Mondoweiss is co-edited, with Philip Weiss and journalist Adam Horowitz sharing the steering of the site. MONDOWEISS follows debates over the role of Israel and nationalism in Jewish American life while seeking to reflect a diverse community of views on issues of international importance. It recognizes that Jewish voices are often prioritized in discussions of Israel and seek to challenge that dynamic by bringing a universalist focus to an issue that is commonly dominated by narrow points of view. Weiss describes himself as an anti-Zionist and rejects the label "post-Zionist."

Inhuman shield: How ‘The New York Times’ protects US elites from Gaza’s brutal reality
34 minutes readPATRICK CONNORS—With a few exceptions, The Times reporting on Israel’s ongoing assault in Gaza has been dreadful and deserves condemnation. The paper has deliberately obscured or lazily failed to examine key events and realities, and presented information in a way that attempts to portray a balanced conflict where both sides are suffering similarly, rather than the reality of a one-sided Israeli massacre of Palestinian civilians. The Times has omitted key facts in a way that hypes threats to Israel while obscuring Israel’s overwhelming power, and control over and brutal repression of Palestinians.
