Since the overpaid corporate media whores will never risk their careers to report the truth, the world must rely on citizen journalists to provide the facts that explain reality. Put this effort to use by becoming an influence multiplier. Repost this material everywhere you can. Send it to your friends and kin. Discuss it with your workmates. Palestine Is How Colonialism Happens

Indrajit Samarajiva

OpEds

If you wondered how you would react during a slave rebellion or anti-colonial struggle, well, this is how you’d react. It’s happening right now, in front of you in this cursed panopticon. Israel is a literal settler colony and they’re slaughtering the natives that dared rebel against them. And the other colonizers are piling into help. This is why colonial history is important. Because it’s not history. It’s happening right now.

Nat Turner’s slave rebellion in 1831 was covered the same as the Palestinian rebellion today, as you can see in the woodcut above. The enslaved were portrayed as brutally murdering women and children, and then mercilessly pursued by Dragoons with modern weapons. What’s happening to Palestine now? It’s literally the same script, 200 years later. They even use the same lies to justify themselves.

In a 1641 Irish rebellion, newspapers and politicians fabricated accounts of the rebels killing babies and disemboweling pregnant women, just as the Palestinian rebellions is being slandered today. Just see the headlines in almost every UK paper, based on nothing. A lie gets half-way around the world before the truth gets its pants on.

Even the IDF and White House deny any evidence of this baby killing, but it is being used to collectively punish the population of Gaza, which contains over a million children.

As you can see, it’s literally the same story used to justify colonial violence since colonialism. Save our children, by killing theirs! Based on what can only be blood libel. The image above is just comically propagandist. The enemy is killing babies, while our guys are saving puppies. None of this is true, of course, and even the ‘journalists’ know it. Here’s the international correspondent of The  Independent explaining why she deleted a tweet about it:

I just wanted to clarify that I did not tweet 40 babies had been beheaded. I tweeted that foreign media had been told women and children had been decapitated but we had not been shown bodies — which was my response to reports which had gone viral about the 40 babies. I realised the way my tweet was written was too short to explain the full context, so deleted it. My headline of my story references that toddlers were killed.

She deleted the tweet but saw fit to run it the story on the front page, where even more damage was done! These people know what they’re doing, it’s the same old playbook from every rebellion the colonizers have brutally suppressed, and of course they face no consequences. These are the same people who incited their population into supporting so many wars, and they only fail upwards. Only the anti-war journalists get fired, in countries that are now trying to ban protest or even flying Palestinian flags. It’s the same colonial shit, different colonial day. Make the colonized look like merciless savages, then mercilessly savage them. This is how they break the back of anti-colonial rebellions to this day. Even the words coming out the mouths of politicians are the same. Here’s a 1641 statement from the British Parliament, about the Irish rebellion:

All I can tell you is the miserable state we continue under, for the rebels daily increase in man and munitions in all parts, except the province of Munster, exercising all manner of cruelties, and striving who can be most barbarously exquisite in tormenting the poor Protestants, cutting off their ears, fingers, and hands, plucking out their eyes, boiling the hands of little children before their mothers’ faces, stripping women naked and ripping them up.

And here’s Joe Biden, the doddering heir to White Empire, now centered in Washington DC instead of London:

You know, there are moments in this life — and I mean this literally — when the pure, unadulterated evil is unleashed on this world. The people of Israel lived through one such moment this weekend. The bloody hands of the terrorist organization Hamas — a group whose stated purpose for being is to kill Jews.

This was an act of sheer evil.

More than 1,000 civilians slaughtered — not just killed, slaughtered — in Israel. Among them, at least 14 American citizens killed. Parents butchered using their bodies to try to protect their children. Stomach-turning reports of being — babies being killed. Entire families slain. Young people massacred while attending a musical festival to celebrate peace — to celebrate peace.

Women raped, assaulted, paraded as trophies.

Families hid their fear for hours and hours, desperately trying to keep their children quiet to avoid drawing attention. And thousands of wounded, alive but carrying with them the bullet holes and the shrapnel wounds and the memory of what they endured. You all know these traumas never go away.

Many things Biden lists are completely false. No babies killed like that (even the IDF and his own White House denies evidence), the festival was not about peace, and no creditable reports of women being raped and paraded through the streets. Even his own White House had to ‘walk back’ his remarks:

A White House spokesperson later clarified that U.S. officials and the president have not seen pictures or confirmed such reports independently. The president based his comments about the alleged atrocities on the claims from Netanyahu’s spokesman and media reports from Israel, according to the White House. In response to questions from The Post, an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson declined to comment on the state of victims’ bodies.

As Sahouraxo said“In other words, Joe Biden lied about seeing pictures of beheaded Israeli babies in order to justify Israel’s ongoing massacre of Gaza’s civilians. Just like Obama lied about Syria and Libya, and Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq.” I argue that these lies go all the way back to the start of colonialism, to the first slave rebellion, to the first native resistance. It’s the same phenomenon, only now they add the asterisk (we were lying!) a few days rather than centuries later.

Like that corrupt British journalist’s ‘walkback’, it’s too little too late, and they know exactly what they’re doing. They spread the lie widely and bury the truth in a shallow grave. Both Biden and the entire corrupt ‘liberal’ establishment are openly giving marching orders to a militarized pogrom. They are inciting violence just as their predecessors incited violence throughout colonialism.

Every atrocity Biden makes up is to justify the atrocities they’re doing and about to do more. Every atrocity he lists as ‘pure evil’, Israel has done at an industrial level, and is doing even more so. Propagandists even use images of Israeli atrocities to make their point. Here, for example, is Justin Bieber saying ‘pray for Israel’, over a picture of destroyed Gaza!

Celebrity's moment of infamous conformity and imbecility. Justin Bieber's obeisance.

As Mohammed El-Kurd said:

“Hamas dissected a pregnant woman’s body,” but it’s actually a report of the Sabra and Shatila massacre where Israeli soldiers did that to a Palestinian woman. “Hamas keeps babies in cages,” but the images show Palestinian babies caged by the Israeli military. What a circus!

I, personally, remember the photograph of a Palestinian father, desperately holding his son before they were both mowed down by Israelis. Rape of women, men, and children is endemic under Israeli apartheid, this is also well documented. Entire families are being slain as we speak in Gaza, and Biden talked about the traumas this causes. Does that trauma go away because Palestinians are, in the Israeli War Minister’s words, “human animals.” It makes sense that these people are destroying the world environmentally, they think animals deserve brutality, and apply this wicked hierarchy of feeling even within humans. I’d say the language is demented but it’s not. As Donald Glover sang, ‘this is America’.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

This statement is not an aberration, it is the American creed, now exported to their colony in the Middle East. Hamas did attack Israel, primarily military targets, and people were killed. In response these acts of war, Israel is seeking carte blanche for war crimes, with no concept of proportionality (because they’re animals). And they’re getting permission and arms for this, from the heart of White Empire. The provinces of the UK and Australia, so fond of lecturing, now see nothing wrong with cutting off food, water, and electricity to an entire population (which definitely kills babies, ie newborns in incubators).Meanwhile America pulls up an aircraft carrier on a concentration camp, to prevent them from getting any relief from the ocean, besides jumping into it and drowning.

We are witnessing colonialism in real time, with industrial machinery. We are witnessing the crushing of the Warsaw Ghetto all over again. We are witnessing all the stuff liberals sanctimoniously say is in the past, but it’s happening right now, right in front of us. The rebellion of Palestine is being crushed by the colonial outpost of Israel, with the full backing of the still ruling White Empire. Colonialism is not distant history. It’s happening right in front of us, right now. So if you’re wondering what you’d do and think during colonialism, during Nazism, during all of the evils you think are in the past, this is what you’d be doing. This is what you’d be thinking. So you have to ask, what side of history are you on?

Killing Gaza: The Truth About the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict

Please make sure these dispatches reach as many readers as possible. Share with kin, friends and workmates and ask them to do likewise.

Dan Cohen | Max Blumenthal

Behind The Headlines

In Killing Gaza, journalists Dan Cohen and Max Blumenthal documented Israel’s 2014 war on Gaza. Yet this film is much more than a documentary about Palestinian resilience and suffering. It is a chilling visual document of war crimes committed by the Israeli military, featuring direct testimony and evidence from the survivors. "Max Blumenthal and Dan Cohen’s powerful new film, 'Killing Gaza,' offers an unflinching and moving portrait of a people largely abandoned by the outside world, struggling to endure." - Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, best-selling author and activist Chris Hedges.

The West & The Rest

Blowback: Exposing Imperial Decline / Episode 13 with special guests Regis Tremblay and Ian Kummer

A word of introduction: Why we value this program

There are simply not too many world affairs roundtables like this on the Internet or any other platform. The collective West's near universal censorship under various pretexts, and the whorish, suffocating commercial nature of most of its media, impose stingy parameters for the breadth and depth of any discussion of the important topics that humanity should be focusing on. The corporate media, in fulfilling their role as chief political pacifiers in a system riddled with incurable vices—grotesque inequality, absence of real democracy, constant wars, pervasive economic insecurity—is the main conduit for a veritable torrent of filthy lies and usually inane entertainment 24/7 designed to distract, divide and politically disarm the public in the face of rapidly intensifying ruling class assaults.

In this context, it is vital to locate sane and wise voices capable of sorting out what is truly happening in the world, people capable of empowering the mass public with the insights necessary to organise an effective self-defence. It hardly needs saying, but intelligence does not guarantee integrity and morality in social and political affairs, virtues which are today indispensable for our survival. The US, particularly, true to its cancerous capitalist ethos, is choke-full with ambitious figures in almost all realms of importance—the political class, academia, the corporate suites, the professions, the media, and, naturally, the largely invisible ruling elites. The vast majority of these think nothing of putting their careers, power, property and privileges well ahead of the public interest or the overall well-being of society and the planet at large. Indeed, most of these sectors have a downright parasitic and criminal posture in regard to the rest of society. Massive hypocrisy aside, the US has always been an overwhelmingly individualistic and selfish nation. Endemic corruption, reality avoidance, pervasive stupidity, privatism, hucksterism, and short-term thinking rule the culture. All of these traits inhere in unbridled US corporatism, the matrix of US imperialism, whose multitude of excesses, crimes and contradictions are finally catching up with it. Ironically, for more than a hundred years US imperialism's enormous muscle, narcissism and aggressiveness, concealed its weaknesses. Now it has reached the tipping point. As a result, riddled with a criminally inept and indifferent leadership, a political class that could care less about the lives and fate of the population in their care, America, the pathetic host to this awful parasite, is disintegrating right before our eyes. Even a casual stroll in a major American city offers ample proof of that. Unfortunately, the downfall of this society also threatens the survival of the world. As the Ukraine War grinds on, a conflict born of Washington's malice combined with appalling arrogance and stupidity, as the Hegemon and its Neocon crews flail around hoping to restore subservience through punishment and intimidation, nuclear Armageddon is no longer just a remote possibility but a very real prospect in our lives.

Given the dimensions of this crisis, and with an increasingly enraged or clueless public clamoring for a restoration of some sort of tolerable normalcy that is in itself an illusion—the disease is too far advanced—we need lucidity, political sophistication, and honesty to guide our actions. People who can make sense of the myriad forces defining this new reality and who can sketch out the possible solutions and escape routes. Obviously such people will not come from the ranks that constitute the disease. The solutions won't be found in the capitalist playbook. They won't come from the liberal/globalist mob currently in control of the Democratic party, always a fraud, and currently the main tool for the Deep State's antisocial machinations. They have to come from people who have liberated their minds from the spell of careerism or the nostrums of capitalism, people who have become dedicated anti-imperialists.

In Blowback, Billy Bob has created a platform where current events can be analysed in their rich and complex reality. Besides himself, his regular team of social critics, visionaries, and observers includes people like the passionate Carlo Parcelli (poet and lifelong iconoclast); Ben Tóth (Peace Land and Bread. 3rd generation Hungarian Communist); Regis Tremblay, (a dedicated anti-imperialist activist and documentarian now residing in Crimea); Ian Kummer (former Public Affairs Specialist at U.S. Army (2012-2021). living in Moscow, often traveling around the RF, a lover of animals, and blogging at The Reading Junkie). Plus other equally engaging voices that may join the roundtable as the topics of their interest and qualification arise.

I close this long-winded intro to say that am grateful to Billy Bob for putting this platform together, and for persisting despite the many pestiferous obstacles and underhanded attacks that always attend genuinely anti-capitalist information projects. (I personally know a great deal about that). In Blowback he has gathered people of impressive intellect and political acuity who have the added merit of being totally accessible and unpretentious.
