CHRISTINA MAAS—What’s Durov’s crime, you ask? Well, it depends on which bureaucrat you ask. According to the official indictment, he’s guilty of everything short of kicking puppies—fraud, drug trafficking, organized crime, encouraging terrorism, and, just for good measure, providing encryption. The French authorities must have felt ambitious that day, throwing in the entire criminal code just to be sure. Let’s not forget that this whole circus started because Durov reportedly had [stood firm in his support of] free speech. Apparently, in 2024, that’s enough to get you a one-way ticket to a Parisian jail cell.

DAVID P GOLDMAN—Robert F. Kennedy Jr, the last living torch-bearer of his family’s political dynasty, endorsed Donald Trump in a scorched-earth August 23 speech denouncing the American foreign policy establishment for provoking and perpetuating the Ukraine war.

In particular, he blamed the American Neocons for the Ukraine conflict and declared that Trump’s promise to reopen negotiations with Russia and end the war as soon as he took office were reason enough to endorse the former president’s campaign.

EDITOR—Glenn chats with Prof. Jonathan Turley, one of America’s foremost scholars on Constitutional Law and author of The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.  Turley warns about the enormous advances of the “censorship industry”, an underhanded offshoot of the MICIMATT, currently focusing on tightening controls on the official narrative by cynically curtailing free speech in the name of protecting Americans from “disinformation”. Ironically, it is precisely the US establishment, also called “the Deep State,” that is and remains the main originator and disseminator of global disinformation.
