EDITOR—Max also clarifies that the Maccabi football fans were not the victims of some vicious anti-semitic pogrom, but actually the victimisers. Despite the solidly documented facts, instead of censure, from the BBC and the New York Times to Joe Biden and the entire Western punditocracy, these violent hypocritical hooligans are now being hailed as heroes and victims by the corrupt Western media and political class representing liberal totalitarianism, a revolting spectacle liable to get worse under Trump.

OLIVER BOYD-BARRETT—Considerable controversy continues to swirl over the issue of whether Israel did or did not inflict significant damage on Iran on October 26. I trust the voices of Crooke, Ritter, Macgregor, McGovern and Johnson more than I trust Israeli claims or those of the Pentagon. Iran is a technologically advanced entity, a country of 100 million people with powerful alliances and major historical grievances with the rules-based order. Its enemies do not seem to understand that.

JOTI BRAR—Prominent theoreticians besides Ludo Martens who attended the yearly May Day seminars in Brussels during the 1990s included Harpal Brar (Great Britain), Tamila Yabrova (Ukraine) and Nina Andreyeva (Russia). It was greatly to the credit of Comrade Ludo and the PTB that they made contact with so many currents within the former Soviet Union that were struggling to come to terms with what had happened in their country and who continued to uphold the banner of Marxism. It was unfortunate that there was no party or individual with the prestige to bring together the various warring factions and establish a common line, however.
This has been a recurring theme in our movement since the loss of a unified leadership – divisions abound and the impetus to overcome them has never yet been strong enough to create meaningful unity of action across international borders or to unify separate groupings within each country in the way Lenin and the Comintern were able to after the October Revolution.
The truth is that this will probably continue to be the case until a new socialist revolution is successful, and is led by a party that is guided by scientific socialism, restoring the prestige of Marxist science in practice, inspiring the masses of the world, and earning the right to be seriously listened to by Marxists and revolutionaries around the world.

INDRAJIT—Western media talks about how ‘democracy is losing all over the world’ but what’s really happening is the democracy illusion is falling apart. Liberal democracy was a Trojan Horse we let into our countries, and bankers bust out and ransacked the place. Aristotle said representative democracy trended towards oligarchy and, whaddya know, it does.
If you read Aristotle, there are many species of democracy, he listed dozens of forms across just the Med, each suited to the population. America peddled the audacious illusion that there was one form of democracy, and that it fit neatly into bombs. This is philosophically nonsensical, but politically potent, a modern monotheism for the godless. One ring to rule them all. But this Democracy™ was always an illusion. America was always shit and what it was peddling was always bullshit. Now the stench is simply too much.

EDITOR—Trump’s former Iran envoy at the State Department, Brian Hook, is reportedly coordinating the transition at State. That suggests that Hook could serve in a top position at the department, and it signals that Iran policy will be once again dominated by the hawks in Trump’s orbit. Iran hawks in Washington have been very pleased with the news of Hook’s involvement in the transition. Mark Dubowitz, president of the hardline, anti-Iranian think tank Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and prominent supporter of the “maximum pressure” campaign, said, “I couldn’t think of a better person to lead the transition team given Brian’s experience in senior roles at the State Department.”
