JEFF J. BROWN—It’s too easy for people like Engdahl to think that China is just like the United States or Europe, and it’s not. The land is all people-owned. The banks are all people-owned. The insurance companies are all people-owned. Much of the large scale industry is all people-owned. So plus you have a much more honest, caring government that’s actually trying to help the people instead of trying to kill it [or bamboozle it]. It’s just also wrongheaded.

Americans Go Against Israel; Hunger Strike, Gaza Ceasefire Resolutions In 50 U.S. Cities
3 minutes readHINDUSTAN TIMES—A massive anti-Israel wave has hit America as Joe Biden remains firm on U.S. support. Even Federal employes in sensitive agencies, such as State Dept, join the protests. Around 50 cities in the United States have ratified resolutions asking for a Gaza ceasefire. Most of the ceasefire resolutions have passed in Democratic states like California. At least 14 have passed in swing states like Michigan that could be decisive in Joe Biden’s re-election bid against Republican former president Donald Trump. Federal government employees in the U.S. are also observing a “day of fasting for Gaza” on Thursday to protest President Joe Biden’s response to the humanitarian crisis. More than 20 government agencies, including departments of defence and state, are part of this fast.

TO WAR OR NOT TO WAR? IRAN STANDS ITS GROUND
3 minutes readGARLAND NIXON—Still intoxicated with WW2 visions of invincible imperial power, the warmongering Neocons forget, says Garland, that Iran is a regional superpower with immense military deterrent power in missile technology, the equivalent of nuclear bombs, but far more flexible in tactical terms. Iran could wipe out most if not all US bases in the region, sink any ships that dare come closer to the Persian Gulf, and also deploy its “economic bomb”, the disruption of oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, which it controls entirely. The “economic bomb” could collapse the Western economies, including the US, which could quickly see the price of oil shoot up to $17 or even $25 a gallon at the pump, and in many places force a complete absence of available oil. It goes without saying that any attack on Iran’s soil could unleash a rain of missiles that could easily wipe out Israel off the map.

EDITOR—This series attempts to present an understanding of the events of the past that are still shaping the present. This story starts in 1799, outside the walls of Acre in Ottoman-controlled Palestine, when an army under Napoleon Bonaparte besieged the city. It was all part of a campaign to defeat the Ottomans and establish a French presence in the region. In search of allies, Napoleon issued a letter offering Palestine as a homeland to the Jews under French protection. He called on the Jews to ‘rise up’ against what he called their oppressors. Napoleon’s appeal was widely publicised. But he was ultimately defeated. In Acre today, the only memory of him is a statue atop a hill overlooking the city. Yet Napoleon’s project for a Jewish homeland in the region under a colonial protectorate did not die, 40 years later, the plan was revived but by the British.

EDITOR—Official Biden government mouthpiece (former rear admiral) John Kelly exposes the degree of cynicism, corruption and integration US Middle East policies have with the unconditional support for Israel. Protestations to the contrary are proven time after time groundless. The US is a major, if not the sole, key supporter of Israel Gazan genocide, and so is the entire top tier of the Biden administration. As well, Craig Mokhiber peels off the lies and virtue signaling behind the US and its usual accomplices’ desertion of UNRWA, the vital agency that has long kept Gaza alive.
