KOLLIBRI SONNENBLUME—We are living in a very dangerous moment. Tensions between the US and Russia are high. Lines of communication between the two countries are more frayed than during the Cold War. Militant rhetoric is steadily ratcheting up on both sides. In such a strained atmosphere, the risk of setting off a deadly nuclear exchange is all too real, even just by accident in a heat-of-the-moment misunderstanding. If the situation goes nuclear, it won’t matter who started it. It will only matter that it wasn’t stopped before it got there.

Pres. V. Putin’s Speech on the Incorporation of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye
11 minutes readRussian President Vladimir Putin addresses the Russian people (and the world) on the accession of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Zaporozhye Region and the Kherson Region to the Russian Federation, September 30, 2022. This speech, which just about every thinking person in the West should watch, has been effectively banned and buried by Western media, which, never impartial and certainly never trustworthy, has now plainly become little more than depraved totalitarian propaganda.

Ukrainian Nationalism as a ‘Cold War Weapon’
47 minutes readCYNTHIA CHUNG—The CIA bought and paid for a brand of Ukrainian Nationalism à la Lebed. One of the most horrifying butchers of OUN/UPA was given reign to shape the hearts and minds of the Ukrainian people around their nationalist identity, an identity as defined by the OUN. It has also shaped historical and cultural interpretation such as to further romanticise the concept of the great Ukrainian race of Volodymyr the Great, encouraging a further sense of superiority and further divide between themselves and Belarussians and Russians.

P. GREANVILLE—Few ideologies are more insidious and disastrous to society than libertarianism, but its popularity continues in the US, propelled by fanatics who live in an alternate universe, and the power of a multitude of billionaires, their media and bought politicians, and the fact it remains the core value of capitalism, aka “the American Way of Life”.

It’s high time the GOP was confined to the dustbin of history
29 minutes readPATRICE GREANVILLE—In the fantasy land that we call American democracy we all hope for the Hollywood happy ending: the crooks and villains get their comeuppance. In other words, Mr. Smith—Mr. Everybody—as visualized by Frank Capra, not only goes to Washington but he triumphs. But in the real-life movie scripts circulated in Washington and in every single seat of traditional class power in America, from Chicago’s mercantile and meatpacking fortunes to Texas oilfields and New York’s financial centers, the outcomes are different. Here the villains prosper. They get rich. They win elections (or buy them, which is even better). In time, like mafia dons who have become elder statesmen, they gain social respect, even gravitas. They give rise to crime families with elaborate national and international connections. The media applaud their achievements.
