Mondoweiss reminds us that the Trump mafia was pushing for an attack on Iran even in the waning days of the administration, but the mainstream journos simply ignored the story. The hostility toward Iran, however, is fully bipartisan. The New Yorker just reported that Trump nearly attacked Iran after he lost the election. But the threat was obvious, why wasn’t it reported back then?

Haiti under state of siege after president’s assassination
15 minutes readBILL VAN AUKEN—Moïse was shot dead at 1 a.m. by a commando squad armed with military-grade assault rifles. His wife, severely wounded, was flown via air ambulance to a trauma center in Florida. According to witnesses and an audio recording of the raid, the members of the death squad spoke English and Spanish.
Sustained gunfire was preceded by one of the members of the squad shouting out in American southern-accented English, “DEA operation! Everybody back up, stand down!”, an apparent ruse aimed at identifying the gunmen as members of the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
The US State Department issued a denial that the assassins were American agents.

A wide variety of critics of Marxism-Leninism, beginning with liberals and outright rightwingers and fascists, plus anarchists and libertarians of many stripes, accuse Marxist-Leninists of being inherently “authoritarian”, despotic and tyrannical. Their criticism is usually directed at nations where anti-imperialists have conquered power (Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba, Nicaragua, and the “pink tide in Latin America”, Iran, etc.) This is Michael Parenti’s insight on this important issue.

UFO Reports Are Fertilizer For Military Budgets
23 minutes readMOA—ince December 2019 the United States has a Space Force as one of eight branches of U.S. Armed Forces. Each of those branches has lots of higher ranking officer positions. All people who are put into those want a lucrative board seat at some weapon manufacturer when they retire. They will only get one if they manage to create enough revenue for those manufacturers while they are still in uniform.
The new command therefore needs new weapons. Otherwise there will be no revenue for the weapon manufacturers and no lucrative board seats for retired officers. But spending tax dollars on weapons requires at least some nominal justification. There needs to be a threat that requires new weapons to counter it. Thus we are presented with an onslaught of UFO rumors and silly grainy videos.
