Oliver Stone has done memorable work with his documentaries and history-themed movies (JFK, Platoon, etc.), his aim always to educate and correct the record for the benefit of a badly disinformed public.  These two documentaries count among the best on this topic, great sources of truth about a critical subject by now almost completely fouled-up  by the imperialist engines of propaganda. Speaking of which, it’s noteworthy that, after several years of quietly existing on YouTube, Google (YouTube) suddenly canceled these extraordinary videos, in the middle of a war, arguing some BS we will not deign reprinting here. Shame on these bastards, but, well, what do we expect from such repugnant people? Stone’s documentaries are now on Rumble, which is growing fast as an alternative to Big Tech’s information blockade on behalf of global imperialism. 

STEPHEN GOWANS—The Soviet Union was a concrete example of what a publicly owned, planned economy could produce: full employment, guaranteed pensions, paid maternity leave, limits on working hours, free healthcare and education (including higher education), subsidized vacations, inexpensive housing, low-cost childcare, subsidized public transportation, and rough income equality. Most of us want these benefits. However, are they achievable permanently? It is widely believed that while the Soviet Union may have produced these benefits, in the end, Soviet public ownership and planning proved to be unworkable. Otherwise, how to account for the country’s demise?
