KARL SANCHEZ—To review, Iran was a tool of Anti-Communist containment while control of oil was presumed to be everlasting. The Zionists were hedges against Arab Nationalism that threatened control of oil. And given the Outlaw US Empire was a Settler State, it empathized with the Zionist adage that they were a people without a land who discovered a land without a people (Paraphrase of David Ben-Gurion) since that was the same story/myth the USA told itself and taught its children.

EDITOR—A former US aviator, Commander Graham Scarbro of the US Navy, reviewed the evidence of the Israeli strikes for the US Naval Institute. In a very revealing article, Scarbro notes that Israel ‘seems to have taken a notably different approach to collateral damage than US forces over the past few decades’. While the US has never demonstrated any significant concern for civilian casualties or ‘collateral damage’, it is worth noting that even senior US military officials have raised their eyebrows at the degree of Israel’s disregard for human life.

80 Mins readEI—More than eight months into this genocide, Israel is losing the war between its army and the resistance on the ground. Israel’s own economy is in shambles, as more and more Israelis leave abroad for good and as its high-tech sector collapses. “I think that what we’re seeing is, first of all, that this Israeli military doctrine has flown out the window,” political economist Shir Hever tells us on The Electronic Intifada Podcast. “There is no doctrine right now – what we have is a collapse of Israeli society. It is a social collapse. It’s also psychological collapse, [and] it has to do with the fact that Israelis have lost connection with reality,” he adds. Hever is the military embargo coordinator for the Palestinian Boycott Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC) and works on its #ShutDownNation campaign. Hever, who lives in Germany, is the author of The Privatization of Israeli Security and The Political Economy of Israel’s Occupation.

EDITOR—An expert and detailed explanation of how Israel is now in a quandary since Iran apparently does not only possess nuclear capabilities, but a huge arsenal of advanced missiles of all types that could easily devastate a small country such as Israel. Fact is, say Andrei and Scott, that Israel’s fabled air defences (Iron Dome, David’s Sling, etc.) have proven a myth (and so have American systems which Israel and US deploy to protect their colony) and that a saturation missile barrage is liable to take Israel back to the Stone Age, even if it concentrates on that nation’s life-supporting infrastructure: water, electricity, etc. Iran today has the capability to wipe Israel off the map, declare the panelists, and the US won’t be able to protect it. Scott Ritter argues that an Israeli operation to attack Iran with advanced bomber aircraft would necessitate elaborate preparations, a large air armada supported by fighter planes and refuelling tankers (the distance between Israel and Iran is big), and the likelihood of success for such a mission is low, considering Iran’s formidable AD defences, Russia’s AD systems (S-400), and also advanced tactical aircraft.

SL KANTHAN—The barefoot doctors integrated Chinese and Western medicine. Thanks to the Patriotic Health Campaigns and barefoot doctors, China eradicated or significantly controlled many diseases such as smallpox, plague, malaria, cholera, tuberculosis, parasitic infections etc. This revolutionary program was so successful that the UN’s World Health Organization and UNICEF considered recommending it for all developing nations.
Mao was also a feminist who emancipated Chinese women from many societal injustices. He famously said that “women hold up half the sky.” Mao got rid of child marriage, arranged marriage, prostitution, and concubines, while ensuring that girls had equal access to education and women had not only the right to work but with equal pay. By the time Mao died, the female labor force participation rate in China was 80%.
