FERNANDO LAFOURCADE—Observe the barrage of disinformation served up by capitalist media as part of Washington’s effort to overthrow the Cuban government. The key point here is that, yes, there are protests in Cuba, but these protests occur on account of (largely) precisely the highly difficult economic conditions created by the US blockade, unperturbed for 60 years, despite repeated near-unanimous UN resolutions condemning the US-imposed sanctions. In fact at this point even most of Washington’s European lapdogs have voted against this illegal embargo, and that includes the super poodle, the UK. The only nations still voting to maintain the embargo are now the US and Israel.

CHRIS HEDGES—Liberals like Chris Hedges are almost always extremely efficient and eloquent in their diagnoses of what ails society. In this talk, Hedges provides, for example, a good anatomy of what constitutes the main working parts of the imperialist organism, currently managed by Joe Biden (the collective Biden, not the real, physical Biden). This, Hedges insists, is just an army of professional bureaucrats dedicated to the design and implementation of policies conducive to the perpetuation of a global, deeply undemocratic oligarchic cabal, with HQ in Washington. The problem with Chris is that his analysis does not advance much in the manner of solutions, aside from recommending extra-electoral mass mobilizations (something we certainly agree with). And Chris’s anti-communism and anti-Sovietism do not help matters much, either.

Who needs Republicans when we have a repulsive pseudo left?
6 minutes readHow much of an imbecile do you have to be to defend imperial wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc., as if they were wars waged in the interest of the American people? How do you begin to sort out the sheer ignorance and idiocy packed in that position? Yet here we have “patriotic” Democrats doing exactly that. And black, too. Which makes the insult even worse. Jimmy Dore is simply speechless.

In Defense of History and in Memory of June 22nd, 1941
14 minutes readRUSSELL BENTLEY—There are laws in Europe today that imprison people for questioning the Holocaust and the genocide of 6 million Jews under the German nazis, but there is no law there against disputing or disparaging the sacrifice of 27 million Soviet citizens. US and British hypocrites and revisionists make much of the Non-Aggression Pact signed between Molotov and Ribbentrop at the end of August 1939, conveniently forgetting the capitulation to nazi aggression in the Munich Pact peace treaty signed by Britain, France and Germany almost a full year earlier in September 1938. And it should never be forgotten that it was US and UK oligarchs, along with German corporate leaders, who gave the financial and political backing that brought Hitler and the nazis to power in the first place, beginning in the early 1930’s.

TyT’s Ana Kasparian would like the world to believe that she and Cenk Uygur are really serious and compassionate journalists, instead of imperialist shills, reminds us Jimmy Dore. Meanwhile Kasparian’s sordid McCarthyite tactics and eager participation, along with Uygur, in the imperialist disinformation campaign to destroy Syria’s independence, speak volumes for her personal integrity. Watching The Young Turks these days, let alone paying attention to what they have to say, should be proof of mental deficiency or critical information deficits, or both.
